From March 16 through 22, 2026, OTT will be at its peak, with a roster of blockbuster shows covering everything from worldwide pop culture phenomena to dramatic historical war epics and high-stakes award ceremonies. The 98th Academy Awards will set a glitzy tone before Border 2, which delves into the grim reality of the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War with a modern, multi-front cinematic defence, continuing the iconic narrative. For the first time in years, BTS will be performing as a whole septet, marking a momentous event for K-pop fans as they return from military service for their Comeback Live | Arirang special. Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man shows that the renowned Tommy Shelby deals with his twilight years during the 1940 Birmingham Blitz, demonstrating that even though Shelby is mortal, his legacy will go on indestructible.

This week's offerings delve deeply into thought-provoking sociological and psychological stories, challenging the audience's preconceived notions. In a darkly comic examination of neurofibromatosis and identity, A Different Man follows Sebastian Stan's (Edward) journey through experimental surgery, where he discovers that his worst concerns were never superficial. The Housemaid is a suspenseful thriller that echoes this idea of "hidden realities" by depicting the perilous transformation of a young woman's idyllic beginnings in a Long Island mansion into a perilous survival struggle. Storylines that tackle societal issues, such as Chiraiya (which deals with the taboo of marital rape in a traditional family context) and Landlord (a Kannada drama set in the 1980s about a rural rebellion against feudal oppression), also shine in regional cinema. This week offers a diverse tapestry of human experience on all the main OTT platforms, whatever your taste—from the enchanted Wicked: For Good climax to the "Tropical Gothic" comedy of Deadloch Season 2.

A Different Man – March 20 (Netflix)

image_item

A Different Man is a psychological dark comedy about an introverted, aspiring actor named Edward (Sebastian Stan) who has neurofibromatosis and decides to have an experimental operation to make him look more like a typical guy. He finds out that his former crush and neighbour, Ingrid (Renée Reinsve), has written a play about his past, which causes him to become obsessed after he assumes a new identity and starts a prosperous life as a real estate agent. Oswald (Adam Pearson), a charming and self-assured man with Edward's similar facial issue, arrives just as Edward is auditioning for the lead part in "Edward" while wearing a prosthetic mask resembling his previous face. This encounter threatens to shatter Edward's fragile new reality. As Oswald succeeds in the very position Edward believes he was meant to be in, the film confronts the harsh reality that Edward's innermost fears were never superficial.

Kedar Shinde's Aga Aga Sunbai! Kay Mhantay Sasubai?, a Marathi family entertainer with a contemporary perspective, examines the complex and frequently stereotyped bond between a daughter-in-law and her mother-in-law. A newlywed woman named Manasvi (Prarthana Behere) and her traditional and lively mother-in-law Smita (Nirmiti Sawant) go through a whirlwind of domestic strife and adaptation in this drama. The story starts out strong with humorous banter and the usual arguments that arise in a shared home, which makes Manasvi and her husband think about leaving. However, everything changes when a horrific event forces them to face their innermost fears. In the face of this unexpected challenge, their once-acrimonious friendship transforms into a deep and compassionate bond, showcasing the support and camaraderie that women discover within their families.

Border 2 - March 20 (Netflix)

Border 2 continues the legacy of the 1997 original by capturing the coordinated bravery of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War, and it is directed by Anurag Singh. As Pakistan launches its preemptive Operation Chengiz Khan, the story follows the close friendship of three military officers—Navy officer Mahendra Singh Rawat (Ahan Shetty), Flying Officer Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon (Diljit Dosanjh), and Major Hoshiar Singh Dahiya (Varun Dhawan). The story threads together dramatic skirmishes on the Shakargarh bulge, at the Srinagar air station, and in the Arabian Sea, all while Lt. Col. Fateh Singh Kaler (Sunny Deol) presides over the action. In the face of insurmountable obstacles and diminishing supplies, the film depicts the enormous personal sacrifices made by the soldiers and their families. The film culminates in a resounding multi-front defence, highlighting the uncompromising resolve of the Indian armed forces.

BTS The Comeback Live | Arirang - March 21 (Netflix)

In honour of the group's long-awaited return from their mandatory military service, BTS: The Comeback Live | Arirang was a once-in-a-lifetime live concert event that took place at Seoul's famous Gwanghwamun Square. The special will be the first time that RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook perform as a full septet in nearly four years. It will be streamed worldwide, just one day after the release of their fifth studio album, Arirang. Presenting the new album's live debut, the show features the lead single Swim and other tracks, while also weaving a story that bridges the gap between the traditional folk song Arirang and modern K-pop. The event, which marks the beginning of their 2026 world tour, combines an emotional homecoming with high-energy choreography and enormous stage spectacle, marking a new chapter for the band and their worldwide following.

Within the context of a conventional Indian family, Shashant Shah's social drama Chiraiya explores the horrific and frequently taboo subject of marital rape. The story revolves around Kamlesh, played by Divya Dutta, who is the stereotypical "ideal" daughter-in-law of a prestigious, loving family. The revelation that her sister-in-law Pooja, played by Prasanna Bisht, is a secret victim of her husband's sexual abuse upends her world. Kamlesh is confronted with a difficult decision as the joyous wedding environment gives way to a terrible reality. She must decide whether to uphold the family's meticulously maintained reputation or pursue justice for Pooja. Featuring a strong ensemble that includes Tinnu Anand, Sarita Joshi, and Sanjay Mishra, the series avoids sensationalism in favour of a grounded "quiet awakening" and ultimately holds up a mirror to patriarchal standards that link marriage with permanent consent and the tragic price of domestic silence.

Gurdial Singh Sidhu and Naseeb Randhawa's Choran Nal Yarian is a Punjabi family drama set that depicts the adventures of a carefree young guy named Manmeet (Aarya Babbar) who lives with his sister Rani's family in the UK. At home, Manmeet attends to his nephew's schoolteacher, Mehak (Prabh Grewal), and his budding romance with her, but everything falls apart when he starts to suspect his brother-in-law, Bikram, of being unfaithful. His attempts to intervene lead to a series of amusing miscommunications, straining his family relationships, until Rani's joy and house come under threat. Manmeet, in a last-ditch effort to rescue his sister's marriage and demonstrate his undying devotion, forms an odd alliance with a band of "thieves" to help him unravel a complex web of deceit and secrets.

Dead of Winter – March 20 (Lionsgate Play [OTTplay Premium])

Dead of Winter is a gripping survival thriller starring Emma Thompson as Barb, a bereaved widow who, in the midst of a snowstorm, makes her way to a distant, snow-bound area in Northern Minnesota to grant her husband's dying wish: to have his ashes strewn at a quiet lake. When she seeks instructions at a deserted cabin, her journey takes a terrifying turn when she accidentally interrupts a savage abduction plot hatched by a desperate, terminally sick woman (Judy Greer) and her husband (Marc Menchaca). Watching as the pair pulls a young woman named Leah (Laurel Marsden) back into captivity, Barb sets out on a relentless rescue attempt to save the girl from being used as an involuntary organ donor. Armed only with her fierce loyalty and her understanding of the challenging terrain, Barb confronts formidable obstacles. The story builds to a dramatic showdown on a frozen lake, where Barb must use all her cunning to evade her armed pursuers in a violent fight for survival. Flashbacks of her life with her late husband are intercut with these moments.

Deadloch Season 2 - March 20 (Prime Video)

Season two of the "Tropical Gothic" crime comedy Deadloch takes place in the scorching Northern Territory of Australia, rather than on the cold beaches of Tasmania. The murder of Eddie Redcliffe's ex-policing partner, Bushy, is being investigated in Darwin by meticulous investigator Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) and her brazen partner, Eddie (Madeleine Sami). But their plans take a swift diversion as they get entangled in a darker enigma at the outpost of Barra Creek, pertaining to a "Top End icon" and some abducted hikers. As they face the oppressive heat and real crocodiles, the two must also deal with a group of strange residents, one of whom is a famous crocodile trainer played by Luke Hemsworth, and long-simmering racial tensions in the local court system. As Dulcie deals with the anarchy of the "Top End" and Eddie faces her own demons, the case devolves into a "sweatier and stickier" murder mystery, putting their collaboration to the ultimate test.

The Punjabi family drama Deor De Viah Vich Nach Lain De, by Harpreet Batth, focuses on the colourful and tumultuous process of getting ready for a large traditional wedding. The plot centres on Raj Dhaliwal, a lively sister-in-law, who is determined to throw her younger brother-in-law, Rahul Bassi, the best party possible, drawing inspiration from the famous folk song. Disruption of the ceremonies is imminent due to a string of misunderstandings, ego clashes, and long-standing family rivalries that swiftly detract from the joyous environment. The film skilfully blends energetic dance routines with a touching examination of the love between Deor and Bhabhi and the strength of a united family as they overcome these humorous and emotional challenges. Overall, it pays homage to the vibrant Punjabi culture, where the joy of dancing brings people together and helps mend broken relationships at home.

Jatadhara – March 20 (ZEE5 [OTTplay Premium])

Jatadhara is a mythical supernatural thriller that follows Shiva (Sudheer Babu), a corporate executive and rationalist by day and a "ghost hunter" by night, whose mission is to disprove the existence of the supernatural. An enigma surrounding the forbidden ritual of Pisacha Bandhanam and the ancient, sealed vaults of the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple in Kerala intensifies his suspicion. As he explores a series of unsettling dreams from his childhood, Shiva discovers that his creation was intended to fulfil a heavenly sacrifice. Additionally, he realises that he must intervene to prevent the reawakening of Dhana Pisaachi, a greedy demon who has been bound for aeons to safeguard a secret treasure, played by Sonakshi Sinha. To face the evil forces and restore the spiritual balance between divinity and human avarice, Shiva must embrace his legendary destiny, transitioning from a man of science to a warrior of faith.

The evocative 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War background of Calcutta serves as the scene for the historical musical espionage thriller Jazz City, directed by Soumik Sen. Jimmy Roy, played by Arifin Shuvoo, is a timid and politically apathetic protagonist who reluctantly makes his way through the city's thriving Park Street jazz scene before being entangled in a perilous web of clandestine operations and high-stakes intrigue. A smoky jazz club is essential to the story since it is a meeting place for revolutionaries, spies, and artists, and the rhythm of the music hides the rumblings of an impending revolution. As the border battle escalates, Jimmy is forced to leave his impartial position and face a complex web of treachery and ethical quandaries. In the end, he shows how language and art were the driving forces behind the development of a nation.

Set in the late aughts, Atish M. Nair's Kasargod Embassy is a Malayalam crime thriller series that follows the lives of two impoverished cousins, Chemmu and Azi. Razak Mama, their crafty uncle, runs a high-stakes counterfeit passport and forgery business out of his seemingly ordinary stationery store. The kids end up working for him in their quest for a brighter future. A committed police squad becomes entangled in what starts as a string of little, high-risk transactions and quickly becomes a deadly web of false identities and shifting allegiances. In a nail-biting cat-and-mouse game, the cousins' lives are in danger, and their familial tie is put to the test as they get more and farther caught up in the dark world of international forgeries.

A modest and idealistic worker named Rachayya (Duniya Vijay) lives in the rural landscapes of 1980s Karnataka with his wife Ningavva (Rachita Ram) and their children. The Kannada social-action drama Landlord chronicles their story. But Sanna Dhani (Raj B. Shetty), the brutal and authoritarian landowner who maintains his control over the village via widespread terror and a rigid social order, casts a perpetual shadow over his dreams. Despite Rachayya's initial trust in legitimate institutions and reform, he eventually loses his patience after witnessing a string of increasing atrocities and the terrible loss of an innocent family. When the villagers' anger reaches a boiling point, the shy Rachayya musters up the courage to become a reluctant leader, rallying the oppressed people in a violent uprising to recover their land, rights, and the dignity that had been taken from them by centuries of feudal rule.

Conan O'Brien will host an unforgettable evening at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the 98th Academy Awards on March 15, 2026. The ceremony revolves around a high-stakes showdown between two cinematic giants: One Battle After Another (a darkly comic thriller) and Sinners (a vampire epic by Ryan Coogler, which broke the record for most Oscar nominations ever with 16). Another historic first will be unveiled at this year's gala: the Best Casting category, which will finally pay tribute to the individuals responsible for putting together Hollywood's most famous ensembles. This year's Oscars have been filled with big-budget spectacles like F1 and more personal prestige dramas, like Hamnet. With the acting races still very much in the hunt, the evening promises to be a mix of classic Hollywood glamour and the possibility of record-breaking upsets, as Michael B. Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Timothée Chalamet engage in a fierce battle for the title of Lead Actor.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man – March 20 (Netflix)

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man follows Cillian Murphy's character, Thomas Shelby, as he ages and attempts to write his memoirs while living in rural exile, all set against the tumultuous backdrop of the 1940 Birmingham Blitz. A break in his seclusion occurs when he learns that Duke (Barry Keoghan), his firstborn son who was born outside of wedlock, has taken over the Peaky Blinders and formed a dangerous partnership with the charismatic Nazi sympathiser John Beckett (Tim Roth). A "fifth column" of conspirators is working together to print millions of counterfeit British banknotes to throw the country's economy into chaos. To prevent the fall of England to the Axis powers, Tommy is thrust back into the soot-stained streets of his youth. He must now navigate a city that is on fire and a family that is revolting to foil a plot. Overall, it is proven that the Shelby name is unstoppable, even though the man is mortal.

Seetha Payanam - March 20 (Sun NXT [OTTplay Premium])

Seetha (Aishwarya Arjun), a budding chef, goes from Vizag to Hyderabad for a crucial career workshop in the road romantic drama Seetha Payanam directed by Arjun Sarja. As she drives alone, she offers to pick up a mysterious stranger named Abhi (Niranjan Sudhindra) for a ride, but they have a harrowing experience due to a string of small, annoying people who get in the way. Just seconds before a devastating explosion destroys the hotel where Seetha was supposed to be, the real significance of these delays is revealed. Understanding that these "inconveniences" were actually life-saving opportunities, she embarks on a soul-searching journey to locate and express gratitude to all the strangers who unintentionally caused her delays. The film tackles the themes of fate, appreciation, and the power of little human connections as Seetha retraces her travels, navigating her budding affections for Abhi and her tremendous reluctance to leave her loving father (Sathyaraj) behind for independence.

Sumathi Sathakam - March 19 (ETV Win [OTTplay Premium])

Krishna, played by Amardeep Chowdary, is a happy village grocer whose one and only passion in life is watching weddings. He redeems himself in M.M. Nayudu's Tamil rural romantic comedy, Sumathi Sathakam. However, long-standing superstitions disrupt their preparations, as the locals believe that the local deity Amma-varu has possessed Sumathi. In the midst of societal upheaval and widespread anxiety, Krishna must decipher the meaning of the "possession" and demonstrate that his love is unbreakable in the face of both supernatural signs and prejudiced locals.

The Housemaid - March 19 (Prime Video)

The Housemaid is a psychological thriller film directed by Paul Feig. It follows the story of Millie Calloway (Sydney Sweeney), a young woman serving a manslaughter parole, as she desperately accepts a job as a live-in maid for the affluent Winchester family in their posh Long Island estate. Despite finding solace in her new work at first, Millie quickly becomes agitated by the haughty and violent conduct of the beautiful Nina Winchester (Amanda Seyfried) and the peculiarity of discovering that her attic chamber can only be accessed from the outside. While Millie starts an affair with Nina's "long-suffering" husband, Andrew (Brandon Sklenar), the story takes a disturbing turn, revealing that Andrew is actually a cold-blooded predator who has tortured Nina psychologically and physically for years. Ultimately, it comes to light that Nina knowingly recruited Millie—aware of her violent past—as a strategic "pawn" to end her marriage. This sets the stage for a high-stakes showdown where the distinction between killer and victim becomes dangerously blurry.

Valavaara – March 20 (Sun NXT [OTTplay Premium])

Directed by Sutan Gowda, the Kannada coming-of-age drama Valavaara chronicles the silent hardships of Kundesi, a young boy portrayed by Vedic Kaushal, as he grows up in the rural surroundings of Sakleshpura. Only his mother's love and the strong connection he shares with Gowra, the family's pregnant cow, provide Kundesi's comfort in a home where his father, Malathesh HV, openly favours his younger brother, Kosudi, played by Master Shayan. Fearing his father's fury when they return to their home without Gowra, Kundesi embarks on a perilous, anxious search across the rough terrain. The boy's trip, with the help of a lost young man named Yadhu (Abhay S.), becomes a moving examination of the effects of neglect on a youngster, the burden of duty, and the quiet strength needed to survive in a world where love is unequally divided.

Wicked: For Good - March 21 (JioHotstar)

The climactic musical chapter of Jon M. Chu's Wicked: For Good continues with Cynthia Erivo's Elphaba surviving as a runaway in the Ozian woodland and Ariana Grande's Glinda serving as the "Good Witch" and spokesman for the Wizard's progressively despotic dictatorship. The lives of Elphaba and her companion Dorothy Gale collide when Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh) and the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) employ propaganda to cast Elphaba as a villain. Meanwhile, Dorothy's arrival at Elphaba's sister Nessarose's house, which Morrible conjured up with her magic, crushes her. Elphaba pretends to die during the "melting" so that Glinda might lead Oz from within, following a tragic showdown over the magical ruby slippers and the final sacrifice of Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey), who becomes the Scarecrow to escape the Wizard's guards. A hidden signal from a country beyond Oz informs Glinda that Elphaba is still alive, transforming them both "for good." The film ends with Glinda understanding the reality of Elphaba's lineage and banishing the wizard.
