Veteran actor, director and producer T Rajendhar had recently flown down to the US for the treatment of his medical condition. And now, a picture of the actor along with his wife Usha and son, actor Silambarasan, has surfaced on the internet. In the picture, the trio is seen posing for a picture near the hospital bed. Going by the picture, T Rajendhar seems to be recovering from his health condition.

The family had earlier planned to go to Singapore, but changed the plans later to the US. T Rajendhar had complained of chest pain and was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai. The news was initially kept under wraps. Later, Silambarasan released a statement about his father's health condition stating that doctors had detected bleeding in his stomach and that they had advised the family to undergo advanced treament.

TR had had a stream of visitors since then, which included the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, who visited the actor at the hospital in Chennai and enquired about his health condition. On the day TR left to the US, Ulaganagayan Kamal Haasan, too, visited him. Silambarasan had left earlier to the US to make the arrangements for his father's medical treatment.

Due to his father's health condition, Silambarasan had put his work commitments on hold, including the shoot for Pathu Thala, remake of the Kannada film, Mufti. Mufti (2017) is a neo-noir action thriller, which was directed by Narthan, marking his debut. The Tamil version is being directed by Obeli S Krishna. Silambarasan shares screen space with Gautham Karthik in the film, and the duo are coming together for a film for the first time. The film has Priya Bhavani Shankar playing the leading lady. The Kannada version had Shivarajkumar, Srimurali, Shanvi Srivasatava and Chaya Singh playing the lead characters.
