Veteran actor Shiva Rajkumar recently announced that he will be soon working with fellow superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna in what seems like a grand crossover collaboration. Gracing the N.T. Rama Rao centenary celebrations that were held in Hyderabad, Shiva Rajkumar took the opportunity while on stage and shared the exciting update with the massive crowd that, very soon, he and Balayya would be sharing the screen.
The two, despite having been close friends over the years, have acted alongside only on one occasion when the Century Star made a cameo appearance in the 2017 Telugu mythological film Gautamiputra Satakarni.
And just hours after Shivanna made the grand announcement, we hear that the collaboration in question would be no ordinary one. In fact, according to the latest updates, superstar Rajinikanth, too, would be a part of what has been pitched as a two-part film. The first of the two parts of this untitled project will have Shiva Rajkumar and Nandamuri Balakrishna headlining it with the Jailer actor taking over the reins from Shivanna in the second part. Rajinikanth and Nandamuri Balakrishna will reportedly be the two leads of the second instalment of the proposed mega project.
Shiva Rajkumar's cameo in 'Jailer' to have a Bhairathi Ranagal link? Well, that's what fans reckon...
Also, the same reports inform us that Shiva Rajkumar will be producing the venture under his home banner of Geetha Pictures. Shivanna and his wife Geetha Shiva Rajkumar turned producers in December 2022 when they launched the home banner with the period action drama Vedha; Shiva Rajkumar starred as the lead in the A. Harsha directorial and bagged a commercial success. Bhairathi Ranagal, which is being directed by Narthan of 'Mufti' fame, will be Geetha Pictures' second venture.
Coming back to the super exciting Shivanna - Balakrishna - Rajinikanth two-part project, we also hear that the team plans on bringing a Kannada director on board. One hears A. Harsha's name cropping up in this regard but an official confirmation is awaited. A. Harsha has been a frequent collaborator of Shiva Rajkumar and the two have worked together on multiple projects, Bhajarangi, Vajrakaya, Bhajarangi 2 and Vedha.
That said, none of the entities involved in this development has shared a formal confirmation but fans have certainly grown excited over the prospects. More updates to follow.
