With second week of February gone, and Tamil cinema yet to find a footing in terms of creating an impact, some interesting announcements and titles have kept the audience intrigued. While fans still pin hope for Jana Nayagan release, and no big releases yet scheduled in Tamil for near future, here are all the titles that you can stream and watch in theatres this week.

Lucky The Superstar – JioHotstar via OTTplay Premium (February 20)
Lucky The Superstar is an upcoming Tamil film starring GV Prakash and Anaswara Rajan. The film is directed by Udhay Mahesh who returns to direction after a long gap. The filmmaker is most famously known for playing Chellam sir in The Family Man series. Lucky The Superstar is about a lost puppy and how that changes the lives of humans it meets.
Chatha Pacha - Netflix (February 19)
Chatha Pacha is a 2026 Malayalam action comedy film which is directed by Adhvaith Nayar. Featuring actors Arjun Ashokan, Roshan Mathew, Vishak Nair, the film is about three brothers who run a local, WWE-like wrestling ring. While their initiative may seem to be successful at start, it soon turns sour as past comes into the play once again. The film will be available in Tamil and other languages to stream.
Ghilli re-release – Theatres (February 20)
Ghilli is a 2004 Vijay and Trisha-starrer film which has found success every time it gets a re-release. Currently the highest grossing Tamil film for a re-release, Ghilli is a remake of Telugu film Okkadu and revolves around a kabaddi player who saves a woman from the clutches of a rowdy man who is obsessed about marrying her. The film is directed by Dharani and also stars Prakash Raj, Ashish Vidyarthi, Dhamu, Mayilsamy, Janaki Sabesh, Nancy Jennifer, Nagendra Prasad, Ponnambalam and Pandu among others.
Thunivu re-release – Theatres (February 20)
Following the re-release of Mankatha, Ajith's another film Thunivu, is also set to hit big screens once again. The 2023 Tamil film, directed by H Vinoth, is a heist action drama featuring actors Manju Warrier, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay and Veera. The film revolves around a mysterious man who plans and executes a bank heist along with his accomplices, with a noble intention behind.
Hot Spot 2 Much – Prime Video, Aha, Lionsgate Play (February 20)
Hot Spot 2 is directed by Vignesh Karthick and is a hyperlink social drama. The film stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, MS Baaskar, Thambi Ramaiah, Rakshan, Ashwin Kumar, Aadhitya Baaskar, Bhavani Sre, Brigida Saga, Sanjana Tiwari, and others. Divided into three segments, Hot Spot 2 addresses some one-off topics like toxic fan culture, same-sex marriage, right and choice of dressing. The film which has some controversial takes and references to real-world personalities, had opened up to middling reviews.
