The festive season of Pongal is here, and that means many films hitting the big screen. This time, however, no big star films are in place with Vidaamuyarchi getting postponed. But that does not mean, you don’t get a variety. Here is the list of what you can stream on various digital platforms or watch in theatres this week.

Kadhalikka Neramillai – Theatres (January 14)
Kadhalikka Neramillai is a romantic drama featuring Jayam Ravi and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. Written and directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi, AR Rahman is scoring music for the film. Others part of the cast include Vinay Rai, Yogi Babu, Lal, John Kokken, TJ Bhanu, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, and Vinodhini, among others.
Nesippaya – Theatres (January 14)
Nesippaya is romantic thriller drama featuring debutant Akash Murali alongside Aditi Shankar. Director Vishnuvardhan makes a comeback to Tamil cinema after four years, since the release of his Hindi film Shershaah in 2021. Apart from the lead actors, it will also feature R Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Raja, Kushboo, and Kalki Koechlin. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring music for the film.
Tharunam – Theatres (January 14)
Kishen Das' film Tharunam is gearing up for Pongal release. Touted to be a romantic action drama, the film also stars Smruthi Venkatm Raj Ayyappa and Bala Saravanan among others. Tharunam is helmed by Arvindh Srinivasan.
Viduthalai: Part 2 – ZEE5 (January 17)
Viduthalai: Part 2 is a period action drama helmed by Vetrimaaran. The film stars Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, Manju Warrier, Rajiv Menon, Chethan and others. Continuing from where the first half left, the film revolves around police capturing a Makkal Padai leader, with the help of a rookie cop who is torn between power and sympathy for commoners. Ilaiyaraaja has scored the music for the duology.
Bigg Boss Tamil season 8 – Disney+ Hotstar (ongoing)
The eighth season of Bigg Boss Tamil is nearing its finale, with contestants competing against each other to bag the title. With Vijay Sethupathi hosting the show, Raayan has already won the ticket to finale. Jacqueline, Pavithra Janani, Arun Prasath, Vishal, Deepak, Muthukumaran, and Soundarya are now facing the evicted contestants to get replaced for the finale.
