The festive season of Pongal may be over, but that does not mean there will be no new releases this week. With Republic Day coming soon, the upcoming week is filled with many releases. Here is the list of what you can stream on various digital platforms or watch in theatres this week.
Viduthalai Part is the second part of Vetrimaaran’s duology. The period action drama stars Vijay Sethupathi, Soori, Manju Warrier, Rajiv Menon and others. The film revolves around a young cop who plays a vital role in capturing a people’s movement leader. Viduthalai: Part 2 concentrates on how the leader, once captured, talks about how he became the person he is now and what happens after he is captured.
The finale of Bigg Boss Tamil Season 8 is all set to stream on Sunday from 6pm onwards. The show is hosted by Vijay Sethupathi. What started as a show with 18 contestants and six wild card entrants, has now reduced to five finalists who are eyeing for the trophy and coveted cash prize. The finalists are Muthukumaran, Soundarya, VJ Vishal, Pavithra Janani and Rayan. With the finale premiering on Sunday evening, and voting already begun, the title winner will walk away with a cash prize of Rs 40.5 lakh and title sash, among other gifts.
The Smile Man is headlined by actor Sarath Kumar in his 150th outing. The crime thriller revolves around a senior cop who is suffering from Alzheimer’s but has to solve a case involving a serial killer. Sri Kumar, Sijaa Rose, Ineya, George Maryan, Rajkumar, Kalaiyarasan, Kumar Natarajan, and Baby Azhiya are part of the film. Directed by Syam and Praveen, The Smile Man has music scored by Gavaskar Avinash with the story penned by Kamala Alchemis.
Kudumbasthan is an upcoming Tamil film, starring Manikandan in the lead role. The light-hearted family entertainer is directed by Rajeshwar Kalisamy who penned the script and screenplay along with Prasanna Balachandran. Apart from Manikandan, the film also stars Saannve Megghana, Guru Somasundaram, R Sundarajan, Prasanna Balachandran, Jenson Diwakar, and others. Kudumbasthan is about the barrage of responsibilities and burdens that a married man faces.
Bottle Radha is a drama film starring Guru Somasundaram and Sanchana Natrajan in the lead roles. Backed by Pa Ranjith, the film is written and directed by Dhinakaran Sivalingam in his directorial debut. Bottle Radha is about a man who has raging alcoholism issues, as he is constantly earning the wrath of his wife. John Vijay, Maaran, Antony, Pari Elavazhagan, Arumugavel, and Abhi Ramaiyah are part of the cast.
