Latest Tamil OTT releases (June 16-June 22) to watch on Prime Video, JioHotstar, Netflix, Sony LIV, theatres and more

We have almost crossed the halfway mark of 2025, and it has been a middling year so far for Tamil cinema. Sporadic successes, a few star films and a fair share of disappointments make up for what we have seen so far. With the year not yet over, and some of the anticipated films still coming up on the calendar, a few notable titles are releasing this week. And they are:

Jinn - The Pet – SunNXT (June 20)

Jinn - The Pet is a fantasy Tamil film directed and produced by TR Bala. The film stars Bigg Boss Tamil fame Mugen Rao, Bhavya Trikha, Bala Saravanan, Imman Annachi, Radha Ravi, Vadivukkarasi, Nizhalgal Ravi, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan, George Vijay, Master Shakti and others. The film revolves around a man who brings home a mystical box, which contains a supernatural entity Jinn. What he once blamed for his family's ill fate, then turns out to be the saviour.

Tharunam – Aha Tamil (June 20)

Tharunam is a romantic thriller starring Kishen Das, Smruthi Venkat and Raj Iyappan in the lead roles. Written and directed by filmmaker Arvindh Srinivasan, Tharunam is about a young CRPF officer who uses his presence of mind to cover up a grave mistake that his fiancée commits in the moment.

Kuberaa – Theatres (June 20)

Kuberaa is an upcoming Tamil-Telugu film starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna and Jim Sarbh. Directed by Sekhar Kammula, the film is a thrilling drama which is a cat-and-mouse chase between a millionaire and a beggar, with money playing a crucial role. It has music by Devi Sri Prasad.

DNA – Theatres (June 20)

DNA is a thriller drama directed by Nelson Venkatesan. The film will feature actors Atharvaa Murali and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles, with Balaji Sakthivel, Ramesh Thilak, Viji Chandrasekar, Chetan, Riythvika KP, Subramanian Siva, Karunakaran, Pasanga Sivakumar and others forming the rest of the cast. DNA is a series of dramatic events that unfold in the lives of a couple who get married and have a baby at a government hospital.

Heart Beat S2 – JioHotstar (ongoing)

Heart Beat is a Tamil medical drama series, with the first season already having about 100 episodes. Set within a multi-specialty hospital, the series explores the personal and professional lives of the doctors, nurses and others who work there. Written and directed by Deepak Sundarrajan, the series features Anumol, Deepa Balu, Tourist Family fame Yogalakshmi, and others. Four new episodes will be dropping every week.
