This week for Tamil cinema is back with a big line-up of releases. With Vikram’s Veera Dheera Sooran- Part 2 ready to clash with Mohanlal’s Empuraan, there are also some notable series which are hitting the digital platforms. Veera Dheera Sooran – Theatres (March 27)

Veera Dheera Sooran: Part 2 is an upcoming Tamil action thriller scheduled for theatrical release on March 27, 2025. Directed by S. U. Arun Kumar, the film stars Vikram in the titular role of Kaali, a provision store owner who becomes entangled in a dangerous crime network. The ensemble cast includes S. J. Suryah, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dushara Vijayan, and Siddique.

Om Kali Jai Kali - JioHotstar (March 28)

Om Kali Jai Kali is a new web series headlined by Vemal. The series will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali and Marathi languages along with English subtitles. Om Kali Jai Kali marks Vemal’s second web series after the critically acclaimed Vilangu. It is set in 1995 against the backdrop of Dussehra festival in Tamil Nadu.

Sabdham – Prime Video (March 28)

Sabdham is a horror thriller starring actor Aadhi Pinisetty in the lead role. It is directed by Arivazhagan. In Sabdham, Aadhi plays Ruben, a paranormal investigator who is called to work on the case of mysterious college students’ suicides at a medical college. While working with his own theories, he meets Avantika, a junior lecturer and resident doctor who does not believe in the supernatural and is working on her thesis on hallucinations. But when a third student also dies in a similar mysterious fashion, the case gets murkier. The film also stars Lakshmi Menon, Simran, Laila, Redin Kingsley, MS Baskar, Rajiv Menon, and Vivek Prasanna in prominent parts.

Seruppugal Jaakirathai – ZEE5 (March 28)

Seruppugal Jaakirathai is an upcoming action-comedy web series which can be watched at discounted price on OTTplay Premium. Produced by Singaravelan of SS Group and directed by Rajesh Suseiraj, this action-packed comedy series stars Singampuli, Vivek Rajagopal, Ira Agarwal, and Manohar in key roles. The plot revolves around a diamond smuggler, Rathinam, who hides one of his precious diamonds inside a shoe. Fearing a raid by officials, he switches his shoe with the one belonging to auditor Thyagarajan. Thyagarajan and his son Ilango lose the shoe, leading to a hilarious and eventful quest to find it.

Mr Housekeeping - Aha Tamil (March 25)

Mr. Housekeeping is a 2025 Tamil romantic comedy starring Hari Bhaskar and Losliya Mariyanesan in the lead roles. The romantic comedy is written and directed by filmmaker Arun Ravichandran, with a cast comprising of actors Ilavarasu, Shah Ra, Rayan and others in supporting roles. The film revolves around a youngster who takes up the job of housekeeping at the residence of his former college mate who had turned him down some years ago. The rest of the film is about the budding friendship between the duo, as the girl is set to get engaged soon.

Madurai Paiyanum Chennai Ponnum – Aha Tamil (ongoing)

Madurai Paiyanum Chennai Ponnum is an ongoing web series. Starring Kanna Ravi and Angelin in the lead roles, it is a perfect blend of comedy, emotions, and Tamil culture. Set against the vibrant backdrop of Tamil Nadu, Madurai Paiyanum Chennai Ponnum is a heartwarming rom-com that explores the cultural and personal differences between a Madurai boy and a Chennai girl. The romantic comedy-drama series is directed by Vignesh Pazhanivel.
