The teaser of Vishal's Laththi was released amid much fanfare today in Chennai. The the entire cast and crew were present on the occasion and also present was actor-producer Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is a good friend of Vishal. The actor, who was there to launch the teaser, also engaged in a banter with the film's lead actor, and relived some childhood memories as well.
Talking about Vishal at the launch, Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "Vishal and I went to the same school and college together. I cannot talk anything more about it. Vishal has played a cop in many films, he has essayed the role of a police commissioner, assistant police commissioner, and now it looks like he has got promoted and become a constable."
Calling the trailer a power-packed one, Udhayanidhi said, "The trailer looks good and it looks life if I don't see the film, Vishal might hit me off screen. That's how power-packed it is. I heard that Vishal got grievously injured during the making of the film, many times. We have a common friend called Venkat. I would ask him why is Vishal taking all this? Look at me, I played a cop in a film called Nenjukku needhi. There was no stunt sequence in it. I select my films with care. There should be no fight sequences nor songs. "
Vishal, who soon ran up to the stage to join his friend, said," This is why I came to the stage. I am afraid he will reveal a lot of things about me.One and half years ago, I had told Udhaya that it was my wish and Nassar sir's wish to have Kalaignar ayya's name and Stalin uncle's name inscribed in the Nadigar Sangam building. The reason I am happy today is because the dream is going to be fulfilled. This is not because Udhay is my friend. This is a historic building, and I want historical names to be etched in the building."
Interjecting the speech, Udhayanidhi said, " I really hope he constructs the building soon. He keeps saying that he will get married only in that building and it's been quite some time he has been making false promises like this. "Looking at the producers of the film, Ramana and Nandha, he added, "I don't know how you both got Vishal's call sheet so easily. I have been trying for a long time. Vishal and I were supposed to do a film together. But it didn't materialise, I don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing." Vishal replied that friendship was important to him and that he would work together in a film too.
