Laurie Holden has joined the cast of Amazon Prime’s hit series The Boys. She was recently announced as a recurring cast member in the third season along with Sean Patrick Flanery as Gunpowder, Miles Gaston Villanueva as Supersonic, Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Nick Wechsler as Blue Hawk. According to Variety, Laurie Holden will be appearing as a superhero named ‘Crimson Countess’

A few weeks ago Jensen Ackles revealed the costume for Soldier Boy on his instagram. Ackles’ character, Soldier Boy is considered an original Superhero. After fighting in World War II, Soldier Boy became the first super celebrity and a mainstay in American culture for decades.

The Boys is a web series based on the New York Times’ best selling comic series created by Darick Robertson and Garth Ennis. The story takes place in a world where superheroes have embraced the darker side of their massive fame. It revolves around a group of blue collar vigilantes who are known as ‘The Boys’ who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with nothing more than the willingness to fight dirty.

The Boys series is produced by Sony Pictures Television Studios and Amazon Studios along with Point Grey, Kripke Enterprises and Original Film. The executive producers of the series are Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver for Point Grey Pictures, Neal H Moritz and Pavun Shetty for Original Films along with Phil Sgriccia, Ken Levin Craig Rosenberg, Rebecca Sonnenshine and Jason Netter.
