'Laxman Utekar said the biggest apology': Divya Dutta on Chhaava deleted scene

Chhaava, directed by Laxman Utekar is a historical drama that revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, with Vicky Kaushal playing the lead role as Sambhaji. Rashmika Mandanna played Maharani Yesubai and Akshaye Khanna portrayed Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb. In a new interview, Duvya Dutta who played the role of Soyarabai Bhosale in the film, reacted to one of her deleted scenes in the film. 

Divya Dutta on Chhaava deleted scene

A deleted scene from Chhaava featuring Divya Dutta’s character Rajmata Soyarabai being reprimanded for conspiring against Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj played by Vicky Kaushal went viral on social media. 

In a new interview with Mid-Day, Divya reacted to it and said, “My director (Laxman Utekar) is a sweetheart. He just said the biggest apology that this had to happen. It was the length and something. I cannot get into the process of filmmaking and how it reaches the audience."

Reflecting on her character's depth and the love that the film has been receiving, the actress further added, "For me, I have to see the bigger picture, that the film is a rocking hit and I am getting lots of love. Yes, I would love that scene in there. I hope it comes in the OTT. But if not, I think it's already there for everyone to see. So, I get my pound of flesh and all's good."

Vicky Kaushal portryaed the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Rashmika Mandanna will was seen as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's wife, Maharani Yesubai.

Akshaye Khanna's won hearts with his Aurangzeb role while Ashutosh Rana perfectly played the role of Hambirrao Mohite. Diana Penty was as Aurangzeb's daughter, Zinat-un-Nissa Begum. The cast also features Vineet Kumar, Santosh Juvekar, Neil Bhoopaam, and Pradeep Rawat.

Chhaava is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar. Meanwhile, the movie will be available to stream on Netflix after its theatrical run.
