It's been three days since MM Keervaani won an Oscar, but his unconventional acceptance speech at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles is still making his Indian admirers happy. Yet his uncle, KV Vijayendra Prasad, remains calm as he talks about the musician's major achievement during the awards ceremony.

The legendary screenwriter told Mid Day that he was the one who took him to meet with producers and directors when he was young with the hopes of turning him into a music director. This triumph is jointly theirs, and he is very pleased with his present accomplishments.

Prasad, who was present from the song's inception until it was filmed, now claims he never in his dreams anticipated it would win the Oscar after seeing the song go from being an idea to a global phenomenon. He claims that they didn't think they had a chance until recently, and that he thanked their Guruji for his blessings and prayed for humility so that this win doesn't go to their heads when the news broke.

The discussion of a sequel to the film has apparently been revived as a result of the victory. At gatherings in Hollywood, Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, and SS Rajamouli have discussed RRR 2, and Prasad told the tabloid in March 2022 that there was enough material in the script to make a sequel. He had mentioned that Part 2 may be set beyond India, as the cast and crew were celebrating the film's commercial success.

After the film's premiere, the director and screenwriter decided they needed to make a sequel. They discussed an idea he had with Rajamouli. That was well received, so they will continue to refine it. Both of the original movie's leads will be back to reprise their roles in the follow-up.

With the film's global popularity, when asked if he finds the weight of expectation on the next installment to be too much to bear, Prasad shared that he doesn't try to fit in with the norms of society. Every script gets attention and a new way of thinking. Storytelling is an enjoyable activity that requires little effort.

But he has no plans to work on the sequel right now. Prasad is busy with other film projects, including Rajamouli's next project starring Mahesh Babu. Nothing will distract him from finishing that script right now. Even though work on RRR 2 has begun, he is in no rush to finish it. He claims that the action-adventure drama seems to be based on actual occurrences.
