It looks like there will be no more teaser or trailer celebrations in theatres of Tamil Nadu. The President of Tamil Nadu Film Exhibitors Association has said that they have decided to not release any trailers hereafter in movie halls across the state. The move comes after a legion of Vijay fans vandalised a popular movie hall in Koyambedu in Chennai, during Leo trailer release celebrations.

Rohini theatre in Chennai vandalised by fans
The much-awaited trailer of Vijay's Leo was released amid much fanfare last week (October 5). A special screening of the same was held for Vijay fans. However, amid the celebrations, a bunch of fans vandalised the theatre and caused some heavy-duty damage to the property. The videos went viral on social media in no time. Also seen in some of the videos were members of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam, a fan outfit of the Leo actor.

In yet another movie hall in Tiruppur, a legion of Vijay fans entered the premises at the same time, creating a ruckus. The theatre management is said to have had a tough time regulating the crowd.

No more early morning shows in Tamil Nadu
Meanwhile, the Tamil Nadu government has announced that there will be no more 4am or 6am shows in the state. The first show for all the movies will begin only at 9am. The producers of Leo have moved court seeking permission for a 4am show ahead of the film's release tomorrow (October 19), however, his efforts have not reaped any benefits.

Leo audio launch cancelled
Interestingly, the audio launch of the film, which was supposed to be held at Nehru Stadium was also cancelled after many duplicate passes began doing the rounds. The makers then clarified that they were calling off the event as they didn't want to create a stampede-like situation at the venue.

The makers announced the same on their social media handle. The post by Seven Screen Studio read, "Considering overflowing passes requests & safety constraints, we have decided not to conduct the Leo Audio Launch. In respect of the fans' wishes, we will keep you engaged with frequent updates. P.S. As many would imagine, this is not due to political pressure or any other reasons (sic)."
