Leo is Thalapathy Vijay's 67th film alright, but now it is found that the film is the leading lady Trisha's 67th project as well. Until the title was revealed, the film was referred to as Thalapathy67. The iconic onscreen couple of the 2000s are back after a hiatus of 14 long years and their reunion itself is one of the major highlights of the film.
Trisha and Vijay first teamed up for Ghilli (2004), which turned out to be a massive hit at the box office. The duo later went on to work in Thirupaachi (2005), Aathi (2006) and Kuruvi (2008). But they were not seen together after that for more than a decade. So their reunion has piqued the excitement and curiosity of fans. Now the coincidence has become an icing on the cake. Fans are calling 67, the magic number and are stating that this is definitely worth the wait.
Trisha had stated that she was grateful to be part of the project. She wrote, "Grateful to be part of the iconic project featuring some of my favourite people and an immensely talented team. Exciting times ahead."
Leo is helmed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and the team is currently in Kashmir, shooting for a hectic schedule. The entire team recently took off to Kashmir on a private chartered flight and the pictures of the same were doing the rounds on the internet. The star cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Priya Anand, Sandy, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, George Maryan, Vasanthi and child artiste Iyal to name a few.
Anirudh Ravichander will be scoring music for the film. While the cinematographer is Manoj Paramahamsa, editing is by Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studio. Interestingly, the banner had also produced Master, which was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and had Vijay in the lead.
