The Pushpa music director is a performer first and musician next, and with his vast experience, he knows what is meant to work with a party-going crowd and what won’t. His success rate with party numbers over the years, regardless of the film’s fortunes, is impeccable.

For party numbers, it’s crucial to nail the hookline and the catchphrase- Life Ante Minimum Itta Undaala from F3, composed by DSP and hailed as the party song of the year, not only gets that right, but is also a great blend of terrific orchestration, energetic singing and apt lyrics. The way the composer builds the momentum leading to the hookline compels you to drop everything aside and shake a leg on the dance floor.

Unlike Oo Antava, which was more of a slow poison, Life Ante Minimum.. grabs your attention instantly. Pooja Hegde is in the form of her life as a dancer and her moves in remind us how it’s hard to imagine something like an Arabic Kuthu or a Jolly O Gymkhana minus her. Giving her good company is the male duo, Varun Tej and Venkatesh and the latter, especially, packs a punch with his screen presence and energy.

Rahul Sipligunj varies his voice wonderfully to suit Venkatesh’s body language and there has been no singer like him who’s showcased his versatility across albums like Konda Polam, RRR and now F3. For Geetha Madhuri, the party number is a mere formality of course and she reiterates her expertise in pulling off energetic songs with relative ease. Kasarla Shyam’s mishmash of Telugu and Hindi may not be high-quality art, but he understands the mood of the song and complements DSP well.
