Liger did not open to the best of reviews but not all hope is lost for Vijay Deverakonda’s film. The movie minted a little over Rs. 30 crores gross across the globe on day 1. It had minted Rs. 2 crores in USA alone.
Liger’s production house, Dharma Productions, posted that the film minted Rs. 33.12 crores gross worldwide. It appears that the film worked better in India than expected.

A report on Box Office India confirms that Liger has worked well in its main market i.e. the Telugu film market. While the movie earned a bare minimum in Hindi, the Telugu version has worked well.
Liger’s Hindi version only managed to collect Rs. 1.25 crores nett on day 1. The collections exclude the paid previews.
The movie has worked well in Maharashtra and Gujarat but is struggling elsewhere. Seeing how South Indian faces are accepted in these two states more than elsewhere, this trend is expected to continue.
Liger faces the problem of being a bi-lingual film. While the Hindi belt finds it a film with flavours from the South, critics from South India think it is a movie made for the Hindi speaking mass.
The movie might barely make it elsewhere but it is struggling in the Hindi belt. Thus, the weekends become crucial for this A-list film.
Will Liger look at collections like other South Indian films like RRR and KGF or end up struggling like Bollywood films of post-COVID times? Will the movie face a similar fate like RadheShyam or Valimai?
