Vijay Deverakonda, Mike Tyson - Liger.

The boxing legend Mike Tyson has joined the cast of Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday starrer Liger. The makers announced the film through a video in which they replayed some of the greatest moments of 'Iron Mike'.

The clip also saw a half of Mike's face along with Vijay's one-sided face. The film's tagline Saala Crossbreed also flashes for a moment.

Watch the video here:

Liger will be the first time that Mike works in a movie. Moreover, he will be making his debut in an Indian film.

The boxer faced a career-low when he was imprisoned on the charges of rape but made a comeback. He is now considered 'The Baddest Man on the Planet' and one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time.

He will reportedly play the role of the lead antagonist in the movie. While it isn't unusual for Hollywood actors to be a part of a movie, it is very rare for sportspeople to star in a Bollywood film. One of the most memorable cameos of a Hollywood actor was Arnold Schwarzenegger in Akshay Kumar-Kareena Kapoor Khan's Kamabkkht Ishq.

Helmed by Puri Jagannadh, Liger is the story of a boxer who makes it through tough times. Vijay plays the lead boxer in the film. Charme Kaur is also expected to make a cameo appearance in the movie.

Produced by Karan Johar, the film will release in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Whether it will release on OTT or in theatres, is yet to be decided.
