Actor Lijomol Jose, who predominantly works in Malayalam and Tamil film industries, is currently awaiting the release of her Malayalam film Ponman, an intense drama that is set to release in theatres on January 30.
Ahead of the release, Lijomol Jose who plays an important role in the Basil Joseph-starrer Ponman, speaks about the film and her contribution.

Actor Lijomol Jose, who was last seen in in Malayalam anthology film Her, will be teaming up with filmmaker and actor Basil Joseph for the upcoming Malayalam film Ponman. The film is slated to release on January 30.
Speaking to OTTplay, Lijomol said, “It is a nice character. Ponman is based on GR Indugopan’s story, who has also written the script, while acclaimed art director Jothish Shankar is making his debut as director. We also have Basil, who is known for his unique script choices. In line with this, Ponman will also be different.”
The actor also adds that her role will have grey shades. “I would not call negative shade, but all characters have positive and negative sides to them, as per the situations. How a certain time can change the colour of people, is what the film is about. I am eager to see how people will receive the film since every role has two sides to it.”

Ponman is touted to be an intense drama, which will also feature Sajin Gopu, Deepak Parambol, Anand Manmadhan, Sandhya Rajendran, and others.
It is expected to revolve around the clash of two men who have flaws of their own, with a huge amount of gold as a point of contention. Ponman is produced by Vinayaka Ajith, under the banner Ajith Vinayaka Films. The technical crew consists of Justin Varghese as the music composer and Sanu John cranking the camera.
