Apple TV+ debuted the trailer for a four-part documentary series Lincoln’s Dilemma, which is based on historian David S. Reynolds’ book, Abe: Abraham Lincoln in His Times.
According to a press release, the series is "a 21st-century examination of a complicated man in the context of his times. With never-before-heard stories about Lincoln, as well as close-up perspectives of him as a man."
Jeffrey Wright is the narrator, while Bill Camp voices Abraham Lincoln and Leslie Odom Jr is Frederick Douglass.
The press release also states that the docuseries will feature insights from journalists, educators, Lincoln scholars and rare archival material to bring to the viewers a rarely seen side of Lincoln, also known as the Great Emancipator. Lincoln's Dilemma is set against the backdrop of the divisive American Civil War.
Eden Productions and Kunhardt Films have produced Lincoln's Dilemma. Peter Kunhardt, Teddy Kunhardt, George Kunhardt, Josh Tyrangiel, Richard Plepler, Jacqueline Olive, Barak Goodman and Jelani Cobb are the executive producers.
Olive and Goodman have directed the series that will premiere globally on February 18.
