Lionsgate Play announces Indian original spy thriller by ace action director Rohan Khambati

Lionsgate Play has had a successful year run in India, and the streaming platform has now announced its fourth original series. The spy thriller series is to be directed by Rohan Khambat, which will explore the action-adventure genre with a unique approach to the plot. The series will be backed by Endemol Shine India and Hypaethral Media as well.

Filmmaker Khambat is armed with 19 long years of experience in the entertainment industry. He has been behind the scenes of some of the blockbusters in India and has experience in the field of designing and executing elaborate action sequences.

Commenting about the series, Rohit Jain, managing director for Lionsgate South Asia said in a statement that they are expecting a cutting-edge action experience with Rohan on board. He talked about being sure about the show having an international scale, in terms of execution of actions and retaining the emotional connection between the characters. 

Adding to it, Abhishek Rege, CEO, Endemol Shine India shared his happiness about joining the team. The show will be a high-concept action espionage series with a gripping storyline. He also said that the team’s ambition is to create a globally relevant product with Indian roots while availing the local audiences of the best of action available.

Meanwhile, the OTT player has recently released an edgy urban dramedy Hiccups and Hookups and will soon release a yet-to-be-titled college drama featuring Arjun Mathur and Sumit Vyas.
