Simon West’s Chinese action film Skyfire is all set to premiere digitally on April 9. It would launch on the Lionsgate Play app.

This action packed film with high tech VFX effects, stars Wang Xueqi, Hannah Quinlivan, Shawn Dou, and Jason Isaacs.

Skyfire topped the collection charts of the Chinese box office on its opening day. It has also emerged as China’s first big-budget film in the disaster genre, with a running time of 93 minutes.

The plot of the film is focused on a theme park on the volcanic island of Tianhuo. This theme park is surrounded by natural beauty, so much so that people often forget the “Ring of Fire” which engulfs it. Built by a millionaire who ignores a young volcanologist’s warnings, the theme park continues to open its gates to visitors.

Catastrophe knocks on their door and chaos ensues when the volcano erupts.

Skyfire is a must watch for those who love a classic race-against-time on screen.
