Lionsgate Play’s thriller line-up: You cannot miss these nerve-wracking dramas on the OTT platform

The Devil You Know 

Written and directed by Charles Murray, The Devil You Know follows the life of a formerly-incarcerated Marcus Cowans, who discovers the possible misdeeds of one of his brothers, and finds himself in a personal dilemma of protecting his brother or protecting the rest of his loved ones. The crime-thriller drama film stars Wu Omar Epps, Michael Ealy, Michael Beach, Theo Rossi and Erica Tazel.

Shining Vale 

Starring Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Sherilyn Fenn, Mira Sorvino, Merrin Dungey and Judith Light, Shining Vale is the story of Patricia ‘Pat’ Phelps, who moves into an old mansion far away from her city home. Wanting a fresh start with her husband after having an affair, she tries to play the good wife, only to realise the mansion isn’t all that it seems. The comedy horror television series is created by Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan.

Piranha 3D 

This 3D horror comedy film is written by Josh Stolberg and directed by Alexandre Aja. Piranha 3D features Elisabeth Shue, Adam Scott, Jerry O’Connell, Ving Rhames, Jessica Szohr, Steven R McQueen, Christopher Lloyd and Richard Dreyfuss in pivotal roles. As sudden underwater tremors hit, a school of pre-historic man-eating piranhas is set free in a water resort, and they’re hungry. In a kill-or-be-killed scenario, a group of strangers, led by a local cop, must fight for their survival as the carnivorous fish get closer to drawing blood. 

American Psycho 

Starring Christian Bale, alongside Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Josh Lucas, Chloë Sevigny, Samantha Mathis, Cara Seymour, Justin Theroux and Reese Witherspoon appear in supporting roles, American Psycho traces the journey of Patrick Bateman, as he goes from a young Wall Street hotshot by day to a murderous serial killer by night. A victim of his own bloodlust, Patrick keeps pushing the boundaries of what he can get away with, but when will it stop?

Till Death 

This thriller film marks SK Dale’s directorial debut. Till Death features Megan Fox, Callan Mulvey, Eoin Macken, Aml Ameen and Jack Roth as central characters. After what was supposed to be a romantic evening on the 10-year anniversary of their stale marriage, Megan wakes up handcuffed to her husband’s dead body. Stuck alone in the cold will she be able to survive her husband’s evil plan?

The Girl From Plainville 

The narrative follows the true story of Michelle Carter. Created by Liz Hannah and Patrick Macmanus, The Girl From Plainville showcases Michelle’s relationship with Conrad Roy III, leading up to his eventual suicide. Diving deep into the texting-suicide case, her journey from being in a happy relationship to her conviction of involuntary manslaughter is seen. The crime drama television miniseries stars Elle Fanning, Chloë Sevigny and Colton Ryan.
