Golden Globes 2023: Where to watch the shows and films that took home the gold, on OTT

The 80th Golden Globe Awards returned with a bang this year, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, which streamed live on Lionsgate Play and OTTplay premium. The past year saw a number of fine television shows and films grace the silver screen, and many of them earned the trophy at the prestigious awards this year. The Banshees of Inisherin, House of the Dragon, The White Lotus: Sicily, and Abbot Elementary were among the shows which made a mark at the awards this year.

This year’s awards were also a special one for India as well, with SS Rajamouli’s RRR making history. The film not only became the first Indian film to be nominated at the Golden Globes in almost two decades, in the Best non-English language film category, but the film also took home the trophy for Best Original song for Naatu Naatu, becoming the first Asian film to do so.

House of the Dragon

The Game of Thrones prequel was declared the Best TV series – drama. The show’s lead star Emma D’Arcy also received a nomination in the Best actress in a TV series – drama category as well. The fantasy drama series can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

The Banshees of Inisherin

The Banshees of Inisherin was the most nominated show at the awards this year, and won three of them as well. It won in the categories of Best film – musical or comedy, Best screenplay for Martin McDonagh, and Best actor – musical or comedy for Colin Farrell. The series is available on Apple TV.

Abbott Elementary

Abbott Elementary also bagged three trophies at the awards this year, including Best TV series – musical or comedy, Best actress in a TV series – musical or comedy for Quinta Brunson, and Best supporting actor in a TV series is Tyler James Williams. The latter two received their first Golden Globe wins this year. The show can be streamed on Disney+Hotstar.

The White Lotus: Sicily

The second season of White Lotus earned Jennifer Coolidge the Best supporting actress in a limited series or TV movie. The series was also declared the Best limited series, anthology series or TV movie. Both seasons of the show can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

Yellowstone

Throughout the course of its 5 season run, Yellowstone has earned a number of accolades. His performance on the show earned Kevin Costner the award for Best actor in a TV series – drama. The show can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story

Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story chronicled the unsettling life of American serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer. The Netflix series earned Evan Peters the Golden Globe award for Best actor in a limited series or TV movie.

The Dropout

Aman Seyfried was not able to make it to the ceremony this year. But the actress nabbed the award for Best actress in a limited series or TV movie for her performance in The Dropout, which can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.

Black Bird

Paul Walter Hauser earned his first Golden Globe award this year for his performance in Black Bird. the actor won in the Best supporting actor in a limited series or TV movie category. The mini series can be watched on Apple TV+.

Argentina, 1985 (Argentina)

RRR lost out to Argentina, 1985 in the Best non-English language film category. The latter can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Ozark

Julia Garner received two nominations at the awards this year, for her roles in Inventing Anna and Ozark. The actress earned the Best supporting actress in a TV series award for Ozark, streaming on Netflix.

Everything Everywhere All at Once

Everything Everywhere All at Once earned Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan the awards for Best actress – musical or comedy and Best supporting actor is Ke Huy Quan, respectively. The film is available on BookMyShow Stream.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, one of the most anticipated MCU films of the year, earned Angela Bassett the Golden Globe for Best supporting actress. The film will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from February 1 onwards.

RRR

RRR made history at the Golden Globes this year. The film’s song Naatu Naatu won Kala Bhairava, M. M. Keeravani and Rahul Sipligunj the award for Best original score, becoming the first Asian song to nab the award. RRR can be streamed on ZEE5, Disney+Hotstar and Netflix.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio

Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio won the Golden Globe award for Best animated film. The movie is available for streaming on Netflix.

Elvis

Austin Butler won the award for Best actor – drama for his powerhouse performance as the legendary singer. The biographical drama is available on Amazon Prime Video.

Euphoria

Euphoria has earned Zendaya a number of accolades. She received her first Golden Globe nomination and win. She won the award for Best actress in a TV series – drama. The series can be streamed on Disney+ Hotstar.
