Allari Naresh is considered the king of comedy in Telugu cinema. He has redefined comedy in the industry and has acted in over 60 films in his career. However, a few of his films remain underrated. Here are five such films you can stream on Sun NXT and OTTplay Premium.
Laddu Babu is a 2014 film directed by Ravi Babu. Allari Naresh plays the role of an obese man. He worked hard on the film, wearing prosthetic makeup, which even caused him to fall sick during the shoot. The emotional journey of his character is portrayed beautifully by Naresh.
Bachchala Malli is another underrated film in Allari Naresh's career, showcasing him in a completely new avatar. For the first time, he took on a dark role, and his performance was widely appreciated. Unfortunately, the film did not receive the recognition it deserved at the box office. If you haven’t watched it yet, stream it right away on OTTplay.
Bendu Apparao R.M.P is a 2009 film where Allari Naresh plays a hilarious role. Directed by his father, EVV Satyanarayana, the film is rich in comedy and social satire. It offers a witty critique of the rural medical system, but didn’t fare particularly well at the box office. If you’re in the mood for nostalgic comedy, this yesteryear film is a great pick.
Selfie Raja is a 2016 film featuring Allari Naresh in a zany role. A remake of the Kannada hit Victory, the film highlights Naresh’s comedic timing and versatility. Due to unfortunate release timing, it didn’t attract much attention, but it’s worth a watch for its quirky storyline and entertaining performances.
Shambo Shiva Shambo is a 2010 film, a remake of the Tamil hit Naadodigal. Ravi Teja, Shiva Balaji, and Allari Naresh play lead roles. Yet, it’s Naresh’s energetic and fun performance that truly stands out. His massy avatar and the film’s strong friendship theme make it a must-watch on OTT.
