Inspector Sebastian is the protagonist of Purusha Pretham. He deals with an unnamed male body and is caught up in professional formalities and personal labyrinth. He misplaces the corpse, and somewhere between his personal problems and procedural errors, mayhem ensues. The main plot point of the movie is whether Sebastian can clean up the mess before the deceased's family shows there to identify him. In this thriller, Darshana portrays a fearless and enigmatic character.
The film is based on the true events of the Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala in 2018. The movie centres on the consequences of the unexplained deadly illness that killed several individuals in different regions of Kerala. The remainder of the movie centres on how the the public, doctors and administration work together in order to fight the fatal sickness. In this film, Darshana has a poignant role as Anjali Vasudevan.
The plot centres on the complicated relationship between a young man working for a criminal organisation and an aspiring actress. Even though Darshana had limited screen time, this movie helped her gain more recognition among viewers. The part where she sings 'Bawra Mann' is still loved by many.
