Thillana Mohanambal

The classic movie directed by AP Nagarajan features veteran actress Padmini as the titular character Padmini in the titular role. Sivaji Ganesan played the male protagonist, Nadhaswara Chakravarthi ‘Sikkal’ Shanmugasundaram in the film, which is based on Kothamangalam Subbu’s famous novel, Thillana Mohanambal.

This Sakthi TK Krishna Samy directorial revovles around Ramu, the son of a rich landlord who runs away from his house to escape from his evil brother-in-law, Narendran. However, his lookalike, Ilango, soon replaces him and teaches Narendran a lesson. MGR played the role of Ramu and Ilango in the film.
