Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Radhika Apte star in the 2018 crime thriller, helmed by Sriram Raghavan. The movie is about a 'blind' pianist who inadvertently gets involved in a yesteryear actor's murder. The film bagged three National Film Awards: Best Actor for Khurrana, Best Feature Film in Hindi, and Best Screenplay.

Drishyam

Nishikant Kamat directed the 2015 Drishyam, which is a remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name. The movie depicts a man going to desperate lengths in order to prevent his family from going to jail after they commit an unexpected crime.

Article 15

Caste-based oppression is revealed when Ayushmann Khurrana, playing a police detective, looks into the disappearance of three girls from a small village. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the movie takes its name from Article 15 of the Indian Constitution, which forbids any kind of discrimination. The movie is inspired by several real-life incidents involving crimes motivated by caste-based discrimination.

Kahaani

Sujoy Ghosh co-wrote, co-produced, and co-directed the thriller Kahaani in 2012. Vidya Balan plays Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant woman, searching for her husband during the Durga Puja festival in Kolkata with help from Inspector General A. Khan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) and assistant sub-inspector Satyoki "Rana" Sinha (Parambrata Chatterjee). Three National Film Awards were among the many honors the movie received.

Talvar

The 2008 double murder case in Noida, involving a teenage girl and her family's servant, serves as the basis for the movie directed by Meghna Gulzar. The film, starring Irrfan Khan, Konkona Sen Sharma, and Neeraj Kabi, centers on the investigation from three distinct angles: the police investigation, the initial Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe, and an investigation by a different CBI team. It aims to determine whether the girl’s parents are guilty of the murder charges.

Badla

Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Tony Luke, and Amrita Singh star in this 2019 movie, directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The narrative centers on a businesswoman who, during an interview with a lawyer, maintains that she is being falsely accused of killing her lover. The movie is a remake of the Spanish film The Invisible Guest from 2016.

Talaash: The Answer Lies Within

Directed by Reema Kagti, the 2012 crime thriller stars Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Rani Mukerji. The storyline throws light on the life of inspector Shekhawat (Aamir Khan) and his wife who are grappling to come to terms with their son’s death. Even as his wife grieves, the officer diverts his attention by cracking the mysterious death of an actor.
