Shobana returns to Malayalam cinema after a hiatus with the Mohanlal-starrer Thudarum, which is all set to hit theatres on April 25, 2025. Pakshe

This Malayalam drama film stars Mohanlal as Balachandran who strives hard to become an IAS official but ends up losing his love, Nandhini Menon, as he is forced to marry a wealthy person’s daughter for the well-being of your family. This poignant film features moving performances of Mohanlal and Shobhana, along with Shanthi Krishna, Innocent, Thilakan, and Jagathy Sreekumar in other key roles. 

Ulladakam

Another Mohanlal starrer which had Shobana paired opposite him. Mohanlal plays psychiatrist Dr Sunny, while Shobana is seen as his fiancee Annie. The film tracks the events after he starts treating one of his patients, Reshma (played by Amala).  

Varane Avashyamund

Before Thudarum, Shobana was last seen in Varane Avashyamund which also starred Suresh Gopi, Dulquer Salmaan, along with Shobana and Kalyani Priyadarshan. The film follows the story of a single mother Neena and her daughter Nikki. This heart-warming movie narrates the events after an ex-Army major and a youth move into their apartment in Chennai.  

Meleparambil Aanveedu

This is one of the most popular Malayalam comedy films. Jayaram plays Harikrishnan, who marries a Tamil woman Pavizham, when he goes to Pollachi for a job. Fearing his strict father and brothers, Harikrishnan decides to bring home Pavizham as a maid servant. Rajasenan has directed this film, which is scripted by the noted Raghunath Paleri. 

Minna Minunginum Minnukettu

Another Jayaram-Shobana film, which again is high on comedy with dramatic moments. Jayan agrees to marry Radhika. But Radhika seeks to settle scores with Jayan as he had bullied her during their college years. Jagadish also appears in a key role along with Thilakan, Chippy, KPAC Lalitha and Kaviyoor Ponnamma in this film from the 90s.
