Anurag Kashyap's Phule is now out in cinemas, and it is the critics' choice above Emraan Hashmi's Ground Zero. If the story of Jyotirao Phule and Savitribai Phule, played by Pratik Gandhi and Patralekhaa respectively, inspired you as well, there are various other biographical dramas on OTT that deserve your time.

Some biographical dramas that you need to watch...

Dharmaveer
Dharmaveer

Based on the life of late Shiv Sena leader Anand Dighe who mentored many including Eknath Shinde, Dharmveer is a celebrated film. The movie, featuring Prasad Oak in the lead role, has a sequel Dharmveer 2 as well. Both the movies tell the tale of Dighe.

If Phule inspired you, Anandi Gopal is sure to do the same. The story is about a young girl named Anandi Joshi who overcame various challenges back in the 16th Century to become India's first female physician. She did so with the help of her husband, Gopalrao Joshi, much like the Phule couple.

Loosely inspired by former Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's life, the story of Dusari Goshta is about a boy who is faced with life's challenges early on but decides educating himself is the only way forward. The movie has been acclaimed for getting a lot of the technical aspects right.

Gola Berij

Gola Berij, named after one of his works, is about writer Purushottam Laxman Deshpande's work from a child to old age. He is popularly known as the humorist from Maharashtra, Pu La Deshpande. The movie sees his fictional world come to life, being both entertaining and mindful at the same time. A recommended watch, for sure!

Although we all remember the 'Dream Girl' Hema Malini for her role of Basanti in Sholay, nobody knows about her body double who performed the action sequences with Dhanno. Yes, The Sholay Girl is the story of India's first stuntwoman, Reshma Pathan. We all know how special firsts are, and so, we recommend this one!
