Hindi TV shows have been a part of most 90s kids' lives. Whether it be the long-running CID or the ever-so-funny Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, there is an audience for most TV shows even on OTT. And guess what? Most of these TV shows are now available with just a subscription to OTTplay Premium! Here are some shows adapted from TV to OTT that found success on both platforms...
Better known as TMKOC, this TV show is adapted from Editorial columns written by a Gujarati writer, Taarak Mehta. Whether it is about the storms in Jethalal's life, Popatlal struggling with marriage or Bhide's endless problems with Tapu, the show has some funny moments, and let's be honest, dinnertime is incomplete without watching the latest episode.
After running on Television as one of the most iconic, CID debuted on OTT as well. This show became an instant hit thanks to the nostalgia of Shivaji Satam's ACP Pradhyuman giving orders like, "Kuch Toh Gadbad Hai Abhijeet," and "Daya, tod do darwaaza," in the middle of investigations. The character is now slated to be replaced by much-younger Paarth Samthaan and it remains to be seen what he brings to the table.
If there is a crime show after CID which has been loved by all, it is Crime Patrol. Anuup Sonii hosting this TV show based on real-life crimes is why we have tried to be 'satark' throughout our lives (and still, most fail at it). Crime Patrol has brought forth some of the most gruesome murders and related cases to the fore, and the show found success even on OTT.
Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati, aka KBC, is so loved that now it is already on season 17! That's right, the show's 17th season is slated to release soon after season 16's end, thus leaving even netizens wondering when they will stop and take a breather. But, knowledge is power and thus, Indians are geared up for more with Big B on the hot seat!
Ekta Kapoor-backed beloved show Pavitra Rishta is also out on OTT. Unfortunately, this one is sans Sushant Singh Rajput since it was filmed post his untimely demise. Many missed him as Manav, even as Ankita Lokhande reprised her role of Archana for the OTT version. This show became a sensation, that's for sure! And Ekta Kapoor plans to bring more content. So, are you ready for more?
