During the late 1990s and 2000s, Dileep led a slew of Malayalam movies that were high on comedy and fun. Dileep, who started off in supporting roles, transitioned into lead roles in these movies such as Punjabi House that still remain popular. But the actor then faced serious allegations and has not been able to recreate the success of his earlier movies. His next release is Prince and Family, which is set to release on May 9, 2025. Meesa Madhavan

Dileep played the titular role of Madhavan who becomes a thief to support his family but is still much loved by his villagers. He falls in love with the daughter of his rival, Bhageerathan Pillai. Madhavan gets into trouble when the temple idol is stolen, and he has to prove his innocence. Jagathy Sreekumar, Indrajith Sukumaran, Kavya Madhavan, and Harisree Asokan play the other key roles in the film.

C.I.D. Moosa

Dileep plays Moolamkuzhiyil Sahadevan, who wants to be a cop, but after certain events, he decides to be a private detective instead and names himself CID Moosa. Johny Antony’s film is still popular among Malayalam cinephiles for its hilarious scenes featuring Harisree Ashokan, Cochin Haneefa, Jagathy Sreekumar, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, and Bindu Panicker. Bhavana played the female lead in the film.

Gramaphone

Meera Jasmine and Navya Nair join Dileep in this musical drama, which narrates the tale of Sachi who is the son of a famous musician but is now struggling to make ends meet. Meera Jasmine is seen as Jewish girl Jenny, his close friend, who falls for him but her marriage is fixed to Israeli native. Navya Nair plays Pooja in this film, directed by Kamal.

Ishtam

Navya Nair made her acting debut alongside Dileep in this Sibi Malayil directorial. The film narrates the heartwarming bond between Krishnankutty Menon and his younger son Pavan, played by Nedumudi Venu and Dileep. Pavan and Anjana try to reunite Krishnankutty Menon with his former lover. Innocent, Sreenivasan and Jayasudha play other key roles.

Kalyanaraman

Another Dileep-Navya Nair movie that is still popular for its hilarious comedy and one-liners. Ramankutty meets Gauri on the eve of her sister’s wedding. They soon fall for each other but after a tragedy strikes Gauri’s family, her father meets an astrologer who makes a shocking revelation that threatens the young couple’s relationship. Kunchacko Boban also plays a key role in the film, along with Lal, Innocent, and Salim Kumar.
