Citizen is a 2001 Tamil action drama helmed by Saravana Subbiah. The film stars Ajith Kumar, Meena, Vasundhara Das, Nagma and others. Citizen revolves around a mechanic who, under disguise, kidnaps some of the powerful people responsible for the complete erasure of a village from the Indian map. The film also partially travels alongside a police probe to nab the culprit.

Nerkonda Paarvai is a courtroom drama helmed by H Vinoth. A remake of Hindi film Pink, Ajith Kumar takes up the role of Amitabh Bachchan. The film revolves around a lawyer who advocates for three girls after they complain of sexual harassment. The ensemble star cast includes Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang, Arjun Chidambaram, Adhik Ravichandran, Aswin Rao, Rangaraj Pandey, Sujith Shankar, Delhi Ganesh, and others.

Kaadhal Mannan is written and directed by Saran in 1998 and is a romantic drama. Featuring Ajith and Maanu in the lead roles, it features MS Viswanathan, Vivek, Karan, Girish Karnad and others. The film is a love story between a daughter of a strict father and a free-spirited man.

Mugavaree is a coming-of-age romantic drama starring Ajith and Jyotika. Directed by VZ Durai, the film features Ajith Kumar playing an aspiring music composer who is struggling to make a name for himself amid the politics of the industry. In the process, his relationship with his girlfriend is also being hampered.

Kandukondain Kandukondain

Kandukondain Kandukondain is a 2000 romantic musical film starring an ensemble star cast including Mammootty, Ajith Kumar, Tabu, Aishwarya Rai and Abbas. It is directed by Rajiv Menon, who based the film on the 1811 novel of Jane Austen, Sense and Sensibility. In the film, Ajith plays an aspiring film director.
