Actor Vishal is celebrating his birthday on Thursday (August 29). The actor, who was last seen in rural action-drama Rathnam this year, is known for some of his iconic films in the action genre. Here are a list of films starring Vishal in the lead role, that you can stream on OTTplay Premium.

Sathyam (SunNXT)

Sathyam is an action drama written and directed by A Rajasekhar. The 2008 film stars Vishal and Nayanthara in the lead role, with Upendra, Sudha Chandran, Senthil, Brahmanandam, and others playing the supporting roles. In the film, Vishal plays an upright police officer, for the first time in his career. Sathyam was simultaneously shot in Telugu as Salute.

Sandakozhi (SunNXT)

Sandakozhi is a 2005 Tamil action drama directed by Lingusamy. The film stars Vishal, Meera Jasmine, Rajkiran, Lal, Raja, Suman Setty and Ganja Karuppu in prominent roles. With music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, Sandakozhi was a major commercial success that ran in theatres for over 200 days. The film was later remade in Kannada as Vayuputra. A sequel titled Sandakozhi 2 was released in 2018, but failed to perform like the first part.

Irumbu Thirai (ZEE5)

Irumbu Thirai is an action thriller film directed by PS Mithran in his directorial debut. It stars Vishal, Arjun, and Samantha Ruth Prabhu among others and has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film revolves around a military officer who hunts down a gang of hackers after they steal money from his account. The film became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films in 2018.

Thaamirabharani (SunNXT)

Thaamirabharani is an action drama helmed by Hari. It stars Vishal and newcomer Bhanu in the lead roles, while Prabhu, Nadhiya, Vijayakumar, Nassar, and Ganja Karuppu play supporting roles. Set against a rural backdrop, the film revolves around family feuds and how these affect a couple's life. The film was remade in Bengali as Takkar and dubbed into Hindi as Marte Hain Shaan Se.

Thimiru (SunNXT)

Thimiru is an action film helmed by Tarun Gopi and stars Vishal in the lead role, along with Reema Sen, Sriya Reddy, Vadivelu and other. Thimiru is about a young man who comes back to Chennai to pursue his studies and meets an old acquaintance. However, he gets into trouble when two goons hunt him down because they believe he is responsible for their sister's death.
