Viduthalai- Part 1 is the first instalment of the duology helmed by Vetrimaaran. The period action-drama stars Soori in his maiden lead role. He plays the role of a newly recruited cop who is entrusted with the mission to capture a revolutionary leader, essayed by Vijay Sethupathi. The film also stars Gautham Menon, Rajiv Menon, Chetan, Bhavani Sre and others. Viduthalai was screened at the Rotterdam International Film Festival and has music by Ilaiyaraaja. Aadukalam - SunNXT

Aadukalam is headlined by Dhanush and also stars Taapsee Pannu, Kishore, VIS Jayapalan, Naren Narayanan, and Murugadoss among others. The film bagged six National Film Awards for the year 2010, including Best Director, Best Screenplay and Best Actor. Aadukalam revolves around rooster fights that is common in Madurai.
