Hindi movies on real-life incidents to watch before Costao releases on OTT

Costao, based on the life of Goa Customs Officer Costao Fernandes who fought corruption, will release on OTT on May 1. The film, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role, will be out for streaming on May 1. Although his is a story yet to be told, there are other tales that have already been explored and are available for streaming with your subscription pack.

Vicky started even looking like Manekshaw in the movie which covered the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Manekshaw's life during former PM Indira Gandhi's rule and his personal life both were explored beautifully through the movie.

The Kerala Story

The Kerala Story tells the tale of three nursing students who became targets to Islamic radicalisation and abuse. They became victims of human trafficking and exploitation in a neighbouring country, all thanks to a series of bad choices.

The Kashmir Files

The Kashmir Files is based on the real-life events of Kashmir insurgency, which took place in 1989. The Kashmiri Pandits were warned to leave their hometown and if they failed to do so, the consequence would be death or worse. No child or woman was spared during one of the dark periods of Indian history. Vivek Agnihotri's The Kashmir Files tried to explore the events as realistically as possible.

Uri: The Surgical Strike

Before Pahalgham, Indians saw attacks in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri region on the Indian army. Uri: The Surgical Strike was India's answer to the attacks. Indian army launched an attack on Pakistan-sponsored militants. Uri the film, released in 2019, saw Vicky Kaushal in the lead role and is best remembered for his dialogue, "How's the Josh? High, sir!"

Pad Man

Like the name suggests, Pad Man is the story of the man who invented sanitary pads for women. It explores the struggles of Arunachalam Muruganantham, who made the women of rural India aware of menstrual hygiene. The movie features Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte in the lead roles, and is a story you deserve to explore.
