Enjoyed Lovely? Watch director Dileesh Karunakaran's notable films streaming online

Mathew Thomas's latest film, Lovely, is receiving sturdy reviews from those who like a nice fantasy movie once in a while. Following Tamaar Padaar, this is Dileesh Karunakaran's second project. Known for his brief roles in films like Virus and Anjaam Pathiraa, the director has also written the screenplays for other critically praised Malayalam productions. Tamaar Padaar 

Tamaar Padaar, which marked the directorial debut of Dileesh, is centred on street performers Jumper Thambi and Tubelight Mani. When ACP Pauran notices that Jumber Thambi resembles an infamous terrorist, he arrests both of them. Later on, though, the cop realises the truth and seeks their release. The main plot point of the movie is how ACP Pauran is going to help them in getting out. The film received accolades for its satirical elements even though it was not a box office hit.

Salt N' Pepper 

The screenplay for this critically acclaimed movie was co-written by the director and Syam Pushkaran. Salt N' Pepper is one of the films that is recognised for having ushered in a new era of Malayalam cinema. The plot centres on two foodies who are drawn to each other due to their shared love of cooking. People keep coming back to this movie because of its honest themes, particularly the way it expressed love by means of food.

Mayaanadhi 

Dileesh teamed up again with Syam Pushkaran for penning the screenplay for this romantic drama. The plot centres on the turbulent relationship between a small time criminal and an aspiring actress. The film received appreciation for the performances and chemistry of its two main actors, Tovino Thomas and Aishwarya Lekshmi, even though many hoped for a better ending for the two protagonists.

Idukki Gold

This cult classic Malayalam film was co-written by Dileesh, Syam Pushkaran, and Santhosh Echikkanam. Idukki Gold is centred on five friends, who decide to return to their school after 35 years to relive their young days, including smoking joints of marijuana. They come to understand the actual significance of their friendship as the film comes to its climax.
