Daali Dhananjaya is currently prepping for his first solo release since Gurudev Hoysala. The actor is the protagonist of Parameshwar Gundkal’s directorial debut Kotee, which is releasing in theatres on June 14.
Ahead of the release of Kotee, here are a few films starring the Natarakshasa that could make for a good binge session.
The Suri directorial is a Shivarajkumar vehicle, but Tagaru was also a breakthrough film for Dhananjaya, who played one of the antagonists, a gangster called Daali. The role gave Dhananjaya’s career a fillip, following which he adopted the name as his signature moniker. Not only does he go by Daali Dhananjaya, but even his production house is named after his Tagaru character.

With his second production, Dhananjaya got a tad ambitious and decided to bring the story of notorious gangster MP Jayaraj to the big screen. Initially planned as a multi-part film, there’s been no word on whether the actor will revisit the character, given that the film opened to mixed reviews and is rumoured to have not done well at the box office. The film has an ensemble cast including Vasishta N Simha, Loose Mada Yogi, Sruthi Hariharan, Raghu Mukherjee and many more.
