Thenali is a 2000 Tamil comedy film directed by KS Ravikumar. The film stars Kamal Haasan, Jayaram, Devyani, Jyotika, Delhi Ganesh and others. The film revolves around a Sri Lankan Tamil refugee who comes down to Tamil Nadu and consults with a psychiatrist for the number of phobias he has as a result of Sri Lankan Civil War. Jayaram plays the role of psychiatrist, who is trying to get rid of the patient, while at the same time making sure his family does not show kindness to the refugee. Jayaram won the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards Special Prize for his performance in Thenali.

Ente Veedu Appoontem is a 2003 Malayalam family drama helmed by Sibi Malayil and features Jayaram along with his son and actor Kalidas, Jyothirmayi, Kalashala Babu, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, and others. The film revolves around a father and son, along with their step mother who is very affectionate with the son. However, after the birth of her son, the elder one begins to have change in emotions and is felt left out. Ente Veedu Appoontem earned Kalidas his National Film Award for Best Child Artist and the film was remade in Tamil as Kannadi Pookal.

Panchathanthiram is a 2002 Tamil black comedy film helmed by KS Ravikumar and has dialogues by Crazy Mohan. The film has Kamal Haasan, Jayaram, Ramesh Aravind, Sriman, and Yugi Sethu play five friends who are close to each other despite their wives’ disapproval. However, when four of them hire an escort to console their remaining friend who has just separated, the friends get stuck in a web of crime and comedy. It also features Simran, Ramya Krishnan, Urvashi and others.

Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is a 2020 Telugu action-comedy drama starring Allu Arjun and Pooja Hegde in leading roles. Directed by Trivikram Srinivas, it is about a man who grows up getting criticised by his father, only to one day realise that he was switched at birth with the son of a wealthy man. The cast includes Jayaram, Tabu, Sushanth, Nivetha Pethuraj, Murali Sharma, Sachin Khedekar, Samuthirakani, Navdeep, Sunil, Harsha Vardhan, and Govind Padmasoorya. Jayaram plays the role of a millionaire.
