Saiju Kurup’s movies and series on OTT that prove why he is a bankable actor

Saiju Kurup forayed into Malayalam cinema by playing the lead role in ace filmmaker Hariharan's Mayookham. Despite this, Saiju Kurup had to prove his mettle with supporting roles in Android Kunjappan Version 5.25 and Njandukalude Nattil Oridavela, where he was able to make a mark with his performance. From Jai Mahendran to Antakshari, here are Saiju Kurup's movies and series to watch on OTTplay Premium that prove why he is a bankable actor.

Jai Mahendran

Saiju Kurup plays the titular role of Mahendran, a shrewd deputy Tehsildar who knows how to use the system to get things done. However, when things take a turn, Mahendran finds himself in a spot and now has to reclaim his position. Suhasini Maniratnam also plays a key role in this series, helmed by Srikanth Mohan and penned by Rahul Riji Nair.

Antakshari

Saiju Kurup is seen as a circle inspector Das, who is obsessed with the game of Antakshari. But when he turns down an anonymous caller's challenge for Antakshari, his daughter gets targeted. Saiju Kurup gives a nuanced performance with the right amount of emotions as he plays the serious role of a cop, who is also a father.

Daveed 

This action-packed film is led by Antony Varghese, who plays Aashiq Abu. The film follows Abu as he has a run-in with a Turkish boxing champion and the subsequent face-off in the ring. Saiju Kurup plays the supporting role of Kochappa in the film, which also features Lijomol Jose and Vijayaraghavan.

Android Kunjappan Version 5.25

This quirky film revolves around the elderly man Bhaskaran, who does not want his son Subramanian to move to another country for his career. But when Subramanian brings home a robot to take care of him, Bhaskaran forms a unique bond with it after the initial reluctance to accept it. Saiju Kurup is seen as Subramanian's cousin Prasannan, a very relatable character, who adds to the humorous tone of the film.

Nunakkuzhi

Another Malayalam film, which is all about choatic comedy. Basil Joseph plays rich businessman Eby Zachariah, whose personal laptop is taken away by the IT officials. The youth then tries to retrieve it at any cost, leading to confusions and hilarious consequences. Saiju Kurup plays Jayadevan in this film, joining an ensemble cast of Grace Antony Siddique, Manoj K Jayan, Baiju Santhosh, Binu Pappu, Aju Varghese and Althaf Salim.
