Prithviraj Sukumaran returns to Bollywood, that too in the lead role opposite Kajol. The duo will be seen as the parents of Ibrahim Ali Khan, who made his debut with Netflix's Nadaaniyan earlier this year. There is significant hype for Sarzameen, which delves into themes like patriotism, parental love, sacrifices, and more.

Ronth

Release date: July 22

After the Kankhajura series on SonyLIV, actor Roshan Mathew returns with this Malayalam cop drama. The film made its theatrical debut in June, and is now set for its digital release. Also starring Dileesh Pothan in a pivotal role, Ronth revolves around a senior police officer and a young cop.  Lakshmi Menon is also a part of the film, which has collected Rs 5 crore to date, according to Sacnilk.

Ektaa Kapoor is back with the second instalment of the much-anticipated show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. The first instalment of the daily soap opera was insanely popular back in the early 2000s when it aired on the Star Plus channel. The sequel promises to follow the Virani family, with a focus on Tulsi's grown-up grandchildren. Apart from family drama and relationships, Season 2 also looks into the challenges faced by the younger generation.

Dhaakad Beera

Release date: July 24

This Colors TV original television show will be digitally available on JioHotstar. Dhakaad Beera focuses on Samraat who takes charge of his younger sister Kishmish's life after the tragic murder of their mother. Packed with heartbreaking moments, the show explores sibling love. The show's narrative will also touch upon the horrifying reality of honour killing.

The Eastern Gate

Release date: July 26

This HBO Max original series is set to make its India debut this week. The suspense thriller, originally made in the Polish language, will be available with English subtitles. The drama follows intelligence agent Ewa Oginiec, who plans to leave the service after a devastating incident. But things turn upside down when her partner disappears after being exposed by Russian operatives. Hybrid warfare and the battle between intelligence agencies are also crucial to the plot.

Black Bag

Release date: July 28

Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett's spy thriller is finally making its India debut, after its theatrical release in March. The film follows an intelligent agent, George Woodhouse, whose beloved wife Kathryn has been named as a suspect in the heinous crime of betraying the nation. George is now tasked with finding the truth.
