Lock Upp: Ali Merchant admits cheating on ex-wife Sara Khan, says he regrets it

Ali Merchant, a wildcard entrant on Lock Upp, recently admitted to Payal Rohtagi that he had cheated on his ex-wife, Sara Khan. Payal questions Ali in the morning about what went wrong between them. She knew that they had gotten married and then divorced, but asked him what happened.

During the episode, Ali explained that he was 23 at the time and was a part of a pretty naive and immature generation at the time. Thus, he thought it would be fun to make history as the first couple to marry on Bigg Boss. When two people fall in love, the next logical step is to marry them. They had been living together for two years before the show. Sara was residing in his residence. Later, Ali realised there were a lot of conflicts between their families once he got out of the BB house. The actor blamed himself and said that he was at a loss as to what to do.

Even in the BB home, Ali noticed that she and Ashmit Patel were still in contact. After that, he travelled to Delhi, where he got carried away in a nightclub. The actor met a girl and had a phone conversation with her, and he got carried away, which he deeply regretted.

Ali wanted to share it with Sara, but she was still in Bigg Boss. So that girl contacted Khan's maamu, and they informed her. Thus, it was all over the news. Everything started tumbling apart before he could get damage control. As a result, they decided to call it a day. After that, they met, and Sara expressed an interest in communicating with him. But he was in a relationship with someone else and wanted to move on.

During a task later in the episode, Sara is asked if she should give Ali a chance. To which he asked who was even bothered and they both looked shocked. Sara responded by saying, "Let's get started." She is just showing him some respect here, but it doesn't mean Ali can say whatever he wants.

Sara and Ali start arguing with one another. The actor accused Ali of stumbling into the show, even though the latter claimed she had arrived here on her merit. Sara told him that he had to come when she was on Bigg Boss and now he had to come here. Ali told her that he had left numerous projects to be here and advised her to relax. She had no notion of what was going on and asked her to let it go.
