Lock Upp: Who is Saisha Shinde? Her controversies, what she did on the show

Saisha Shinde, who has been in news ever since her s** change operation, is now a part of Lock Upp. Previously known as Swapnil Shinde, Saisha is actually a fashion designer who is seen speaking her mind of Kangana Ranaut-hosted show. She recently made a revelation about being in a gay relationship before she decided to become a woman.

What are Saisha’s controversies?

Saisha’s biggest controversy to date is her decision to change her appearance and become a transgender woman. She revealed on Lock Upp that her choice was often questioned, even by her own family.

More recently, Saisha revealed that she was in a mentally abusive relationship. She spoke about the incident when Poonam revealed she would hide how her husband Sam Bombay physically assaulted her by applying layers of make-up. Meanwhile, Saisha revealed that she was in a gay relationship back when she was Swapnil. She felt that the relationship is wrong since she felt like a woman inside but kept fighting her instincts. The fashion designer stated that her ex-boyfriend would wait to catch a glimpse of him masturbating so he could use it against Swapnil, now Saisha.

Her decision to change genders questioned by evicted contestant Chakrapani.

Chakrapani, who was evicted from Lock Upp, had questioned Saisha about her decision to change gender. She even confronted him and tried to explain how she has simply embraced what she felt since a long time. However, Chakrapani stated that he did not believe in paving away from what nature blesses human beings with. The two did not clash per say but were not on great talking terms either. At the grand premiere too, Saisha and Chakrapani were pitted against each other.

What is Saisha’s current image on the show?

Saisha has broken boundaries and is lauded by all the contestants. She has somehow managed to remain on good terms with everyone in the house and had petty fights which always resulted in patching back up.

The fashion designer also made many co-inmates happy through her styling. Her teammates Sara Khan and Nisha Rawal could be seen wearing fashionable clothes in the form of accessories like neck tie and hand band (in the case of Nisha).

Saisha is also quite vocal.

Saisha was the first person to protest when she did not receive cigarette in the Lock Upp. She stood in a corner and did not move an inch despite the guards’ warnings. That was neither the first nor the last time when she blasted on the guards. Saisha later lashed out at them for not serving tea and food on time which led to a huge protest with the help of all the inmates.

Saisha is nominated this week. Apart from her, Payal Rohatgi, Tehseen Poonawalla, Shivam Sharma and Poonam Pandey are in the danger zone. One inmate out of them will be evicted over the weekend.
