Lokah box office collection day 5: Kalyani Priyadarshan’s latest film seems to be unstoppable at the ticket window, earning almost twice as much as the other Onam release of Hridayapoorvam, starring Mohanlal. Helmed by Dominic Arun, the film earned Rs 6.65 crore on day 5 at the box office, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.

Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, the 2025 Malayalam film starring Kalyani in the lead role of a superhero, passed the crucial Monday test, earning Rs 6.65 crore in India net collections. Though this is a drop from the Sunday collections of Rs 10.1 crore, the latest figures took Lokah worldwide collections to Rs 66 crore. This is almost double the earnings of Mohanlal’s Hridayapoorvam, which has a worldwide collection of Rs 34.18 crore, as per the Sacnilk website.

It needs to be pointed out that only Hridayapoorvam, helmed by noted director Sathyan Anthikad, is in the running in the Onam race. The other big releases of Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, which stars Fahadh Faasil along with Kalyani Priyadarshan, is languishing way behind at just Rs 1.53 crore. Maine Pyar Kiya, which features Hridhu Haroon and Preity Mukhundhan as a young couple, is also left struggling with Rs 0.29 crore in worldwide collections.

It is clear that Lokah has taken the Onam winner slot, and by what margin is only what that needs to determined in the coming days.

Notably, Lokah is getting widespread attention for telling a superhero story, rooted in Kerala’s iconic fables. The film’s co-writer Santhy Balachandran is all winning much accolades for the woman-centric story.
