Lokah box office collection day 47: The Malayalam film Lokah: Chapter 1 - Chandra, led by actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, continues to run in theatres even more than 1.5 months after it first hit the screens. But the film saw a major drop on its 47th day with just Rs 0.8 crore registered as per industry tracker Sacnilk data. However, this is not a concern for the makers as the woman-led superhero film has become the first Malayalam movie to enter Rs 300 crore, producer Dulquer Salman has confirmed.

Malayalam actor-producer Dulquer Salmaan, who has produced Kalyani Priyadarshan-led film, took to social media to confirm that Lokah has entered the Rs 300 crore club. The Charlie actor wrote ‘only gratitude’ in the caption, as he shared the exciting news.
On the other hand, Lokah’s collections have been seeing a downward trend for the past many days with day 47 seeing only Rs 8 lakh being added, as per Sacnilk. This was, however, expected, given that the Dominic Arun directorial had been reigning over cinemas for close to 50 days and the hype has almost died down. The total worldwide collections of Lokah stand at Rs 301.98 crore, and the India net collections are at Rs 121.8 crore, as per Sacnilk.

However, all eyes are on when Lokah would make its OTT debut. DQ had earlier said that the makers were in no hurry to announce an OTT premiere, considering the overwhelming response the film was receiving in theatres. But now with the dip in earnings and Lokah finally achieving the record-breaking milestone of Rs 300 crore, the makers are expected to make an announcement soon. Trackers have been debating over whether Lokah would head to Netflix or JioHotstar, but there is no official confirmation from either the makers or the platforms.
Also starring Naslen as Sunny, Lokah revolves around a mysterious woman named Chandra who moves into Bangalore. It is later revealed that she has superhuman powers. Co-written by Santhy Balachandran, the makers reimagined the folktale of Kalliyankattu Neeli, considered to be a vengeful spirit.
