Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra box office collection day 25: Kalyani’s unstoppable film to notch up new record by EOD as it eyes Rs 300 crore

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra box office collection day 25: Dulquer Salmaan recently said that his seventh production venture of Lokah would not be making an OTT release anytime soon as it continues its impressive performance at the ticket window. The Malayalam superhero film, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan, is fully justifying its producer’s trust as the Dominic Arun directorial earned Rs 4.00 crore on day 25 at the box office, as per Sacnilk. Trade experts speculate that Lokah could break into Rs 275 crore by the end of today on Monday.

Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra could well be the first film to break into the Rs 300 crore club for Malayalam cinema, given how the film has been performing at the box office and hardly any competitors in sight, but for Vineeth Sreenivasan’s directorial Karam. On its fourth Sunday at the box office, Lokah made Rs 4 crore, taking the total India net collection to Rs 137.75 crore.  

The worldwide collections stand at Rs 271 crore, having already surpassed the previous topper of Empuraan’s Rs 266.81 crore. The film is expected to make Rs 275 crore by EOD, as per trade experts. This is a phenomenal achievement, given that Lokah is led by a young actress, while Empuraan is led by superstar Mohanlal along with Prithviraj Sukumaran, who is the director as well as an actor in the second part of the Lucifer trilogy. Lokah is also a part of franchise and the 2025 film tells the story of Chandra aka Neeli who has superhuman powers. The subsequent four films would shed more light on her story, as well as expanding to tell the narratives of Chathan (played by Tovino Thomas), and Odiyan (Dulquer Salmaan).

On the other hand, Lokah would not be making its highly anticipated OTT debut this week. The film is headed to Netflix. But the other two Onam releases of Hridayapoorvam and Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira would land on JioHotsar (OTTplay Premium) and Netflix, respectively.
