You can watch the Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer, which emerged as the all-time blockbuster in Malayalam, on JioHotstar (also OTTplay Premium) on October 31, 2025

When to watch Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra on OTT

The Malayalam film, Lokah Chapter 1 Chandra, starring actress Kalyani Priyadarshan, released in theatres on August 28, 2025, and became a resounding hit at the box office. JioHotstar had bagged the streaming rights of the Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer but a release date was pending. Just when netizens were getting tired of waiting for Lokah to drop on OTT, the platform announced that the superhero film would release on October 31, 2025.

OTTplay Premium subscribers can also watch the film, which will be available in multiple languages of Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali and Marathi.

What is Lokah all about

Directed by Dominic Arun, Lokah revolves around a young mysterious woman named Chandra who moves to a city and works at a cafe. Sunny and his two friends, who live in the nearby apartment, are curious to know about her. But Sunny is startled to find out that Chandra in fact has superhuman abilities and that her name is Neeli.

Naslen plays Sunny in the film, which also features star cameos by Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas. Dulquer has also backed the film, which is the first in the five-part franchise.

Earlier in September, there were rumours about Lokah making its OTT debut. But Dulquer had allowed Lokah to continue its reign at the cinemas, and the woman-led film went on to gross over Rs 300 crore at the box office, becoming the first Malayalam film to ever achieve the feat.

Lokah also features Sandy Master as the vile cop, along with Arun Kurian and Chandu Salim Kumar as Sunny’s friends. Santhy Balachandran has co-written the film with director Dominic Arun. The film won plaudits for its terrific plot, well-crafted setting and stellar performances of the cast. Jakes Bejoy's music is another highlight of the movie.

Currently, no major Malayalam films are scheduled to make their OTT release next week.
