The much-awaited digital release of the Malayalam film Lokah Chapter 1-Chandra has finally arrived. You can watch this fantasy thriller in multiple languages on JioHotstar and OTTplay Premium. Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen play the main parts in the movie, which is helmed by Dominic Arun. Similar to how it was received after its theatrical debut, the film has received positive reviews for a number of reasons, however, some people disagree.
Except for a handful, netizens praise Lokah Chapter 1
Following its online release, a lot of people expressed their thoughts on social media about Mollywood's highest-grossing film ever. Along with outstanding performances, the majority praised the makers' production style, Jakes Bejoy's music, and Chaman Chacko's editing.
People can't help but applaud the way the filmmakers introduced both a superb cinematic universe and intriguing cameos.
Some, however, do not have the same view. This is mostly because they believe Bengaluru, the film's setting, is portrayed negatively.
"Why don't they do the movie in their place and show their place in bad light, show their locals bad??," wrote a user.

This is not the first time that this fantasy thriller has garnered such a viewpoint. After the movie's theatrical premiere, Kannadiga viewers were offended by Nachiyappa's generalisation that Bengaluru girls are "dagaar," a disparaging term used to slut shame. They are also offended by the city's portrayal as a safe sanctuary for drug users and notorious gangs.
The makers jointly apologised in response to the public criticism over Nachiyappa's phrase. "It has come to our attention that one of the characters in our film, Lokah Chapter 1, has unintentionally hurt the sentiments of the people from Karnataka," the statement noted. Meanwhile, the fantasy thriller continued to do incredibly well in theatres, and more people were going back to watch it. Due to popular demand, Lokah: Chapter 1-Chandra is still playing on a few screens across the country.
