Kalyani Priyadarshan’s latest Malayalam film, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, is having a dream run at the cinemas, amid overwhelming responses. Though viewers are thronging the theatres to watch all the superhero action, there are also talks about the film’s digital release doing the rounds. The word in the online circles is that the digital rights of Kalyani Priyadarshan’s superhero film have been bagged by the streaming giant Netflix. However, this has not been officially announced by the Lokah team or the streaming platform.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra released, starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in lead roles, in theatres on August 28, 2025. The film is backed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, whose several movies, including DQ’s Kurup, is also streaming on Netflix. Going by this, online trackers claim that Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra would also be heading to Netflix after it completes its theatrical run. Apart from Malayalam, Lokah is expected to be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada on the platform.
Dulquer Salmaan was last seen in a leading role in the Telugu hit film Lucky Baskhar, which is also now streaming on the popular platform. His popular Tamil film Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, and Hindi series Guns & Gulaabs are also available on the streaming giant.
On the other hand, Kalyani Priyadarshan’s second Onam release of the year - Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira is confirmed to be heading to Netflix after its theatrical run. But contrary to Lokah, Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira has been having a lacklustre run, despite being led by the likes of Fahadh Faasil. So far Netflix only has two Malayalam films streaming on the platform - Kunchacko Boban’s cop thriller Officer on Duty and Dhyan Sreenivasan-led Detective Ujjwalan.
