Filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj took a break from his busy schedule to watch Tamil cinema's new critical darling Good Night . On Thursday, he even gave a raving review of the movie, describing it as "fun-filled" and yet, "realistic."

"Watched #GoodNight. The movie is funfilled, feel-good, emotional and realistic. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nice & sleek performance by @Manikabali87 & all the other casts. Best wishes to @imvinayakk @Yuvrajganesan @mageshraj @thilak_ramesh," he tweeted.

Good Night is written and directed by Vinayak Chandrasekaran. The movie stars Manikandan K (of Jai Bhim, Vikram Vedha fame) in the lead. The movie revolves around a happy-go-lucky guy, who seems to have everything going for him except for his snoring problem. The movie also stars Bagavathi Perumal, Raichal Rabecca, Meetha Raghunath, Balaji Sakthivel and Ramesh Thilak in the supporting cast.

"Director Vinayak Chandrasekaran’s Good Night is an emotionally uplifting film, which has its heart in the right place. Laced with some solid performances and brilliant writing and filmmaking, Manikandan and Meetha Raghunath's Good Night is a warm concoction of some hearty moments, humour and emotions," wrote OTTplay's P Sangeetha in her 3-star review.

Meanwhile, Lokesh is busy with the production of Leo, starring Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay in the lead role. The movie went on the floors earlier this year in Kashmir, where the cast and crew shot the movie for over 50 days. Following that the shooting moved to locations in Chennai.

Leo is one of the most-awaited movies of 2023. The film is expected to further expand Lokesh's crime universe populated by cold-blooded members of the drug mafia and heroic spies. Besides Vijay, Leo also stars an ensemble cast including Trisha, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Sandy Master and Mathew Thomas among others.
