Lokesh Kanagaraj on Aamir Khan film
The Tamil filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj’s upcoming movie Coolie releases in theatres on August 14, 2025. After that he will take up Kaithi 2, the sequel to actor Karthi’s 2019 hit film. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter India, Lokesh confirmed that his next project after Kaithi 2 will be the Aamir Khan film.
Speaking more about the much-anticipated project, Lokesh said, “After Kaithi 2, most probably it will be Aamir Khan sir’s film. It is going to be in Hindi, but it will be for a global (audience). It is a really good idea. I just wanted to do a film with sir.”
On the other hand, Aamir is also a part of Lokesh’s Coolie.
“I found a lot of similarities between Aamir sir and Kamal (Haasan) sir. And I really love the way he approaches the film. The fundamental difference between my kind of films and his films but that collaboration, I think, will be a new genre,” Lokesh said about his Hindi film.
“It can be called as a superhero film but it is going to be the biggest action film,” he added emphatically.
Talking about his other projects, Kamal Haasan’s Vikram 2 and Rolex with Suriya, the director said that it all depends on the actors’ availability and his schedule
He also spoke about his desire to do sequels for Leo and Master, both of which had actor Vijay in the lead. But Vijay has announced that he would be quitting films, as he forays into politics. The upcoming Jana Nayagan is said to be his last film.
